We will be there on 6/18 for 11 days. I have a TIW card. Has anyone experienced them asking for ID to use the card?

Yes, we had to show a photo ID when we used our TIW card during 5 separate trips from Dec 2010- Jan 2012.

That's interesting. Not only have we never been asked to show an ID, over a comparable number of trips, but we've also used the card when the named cardholder was not present. Guess it's inconsistent.

No but every time I use the TIW card I also hand them my room keycard since we always charge our meals to the room. Since the name on my room key matches the name on the TIW card that probably satisfies the ID requirement.

I have also been asked for ID when using my TIW card. It doesn't happen often but it does happen.

"Has anyone experienced them asking for ID to use the card? "

Absolutely; every single time we used it during our year of TIW-ownership.

Yes, but they will take an AP in place of a photo ID.

Okay....So if you pay with a credit card that has the same name on it as the TIW card OR you charge to your room key with the same name on the card, you shouldn't have to also show a photo ID. BUT....I really don't like hearing that you were able to use the card when the card holder was not present. That is NOT within the rules of the card, and misuses like that only cause the privledges of the card to be changed so that they aren't as beneficial for everyone else who might use the card properly. Shame on Disney for not enforcing the rules ALL the time.

We got the request for an ID when we ate at Bistro de Paris and the bill was over $250. Normally we are not asked, but we always charge to the room so that might be why.

Wow I've never had to show ID when using our TIW card over the years, and we've had many +$250 bills at the Cali Grill, Flying Fish, Jiko's etc.

Only real problem we had was at Tusker House for lunch one day when the server had never seen the TIW and she had to go get 2 mgmt types to get the bill paid.

I've never been asked for an ID but once when my brother was paying for our lunch at Beaches and Cream with his credit card the server said the name on the TIW card had to match the credit card used to pay. That was a first and only experience with that. My brother paid with cash. I do wish they'd ask for ID. I lost my TIW card once and anyone who found it could've used it...except if they tried to pay with a credit card at B&C! The bad news is I lost it...the good news it only had a month left before it expired. It's $50 to replace a TIW card so take good care of it.

I've been asked several times to show ID to use the TiW card, whether the room charge key matched or not.

Nearly every single time I've used it,I have had one time in 8 years where I was not asked for it. I think it is more the rule than the exception. Funny, I always use a credit card that has a name that matches exactly to the card as well.

I was asked sometimes when I first used the card but not always- now I normally just hand over the TIW, my charge card, and my ID together. Some servers check it and others say they don't need it I have just taking to handing them all of them at once so I don't have to keep getting things out.

I was asked at LeCellier, Shulas and Biergarten. I was not asked at Flame tree bbq, Rose and Crown, Cape May cafe and Flying Fish earlier this month.

Paid with a credit card that had a matching last name... primary named TIW holder was back in the room. It was a good experiment in the name of science. Please don't smite me, tiki gods!

I have been asked from my ID more and more lately. I always pay with my room charge, which has my name on it, but during my last few trips, I am also asked for a picture ID. Always at Pop or A/S food courts regardless. But most recently (earlier this month) I've been asked at 50s Prime Time, Olivia's, & Kona's. Generally I'm not asked because of my room card matching my TiW card. I've also found when I don't use my room card I am always asked for my picture ID. I've also been asked for a picture ID at the QS locations at the AK on several occassions.
