23 seconds was the fastest time yesterday on the Pin QUest....

23 seconds for a 24 question Quest AND with 3 room changes....

It just doesnt sit right with me.... SOME program must have been used....

My best time was 1 minute 42 seconds...

23 seconds..... shakes head

just seems fishy to me...

I know.

It does seem strange. Even if they have a T3 connection and a super fast pc, it should still take longer than 23 seconds to do that quest. :confused3

I had the same thoughts.... The best time I could get and that was with NO wait to get into Town Square, was 1.15....

I don't think the 'timer' was working correctly.

I saw that and did a test with my mule to see if that was possible. My best was just over 40 seconds and that was with a T3 connection, having the phrases preset for quick key in and getting into all three rooms with no wait. Something is really fishy with that time.

It took me about 2 minutes on each of the mules I tried, and that included stopping along the way to help someone with an answer. But about half the time I would DC before I could trade it with my main character. So total time was about 5-6 minutes for: quest, helping, DCing and trading.

I DC a lot yesterday.

LOL, I never thought of that.

I thought I had heard a final time near midnight at about 19 seconds from a friend that did the quest late.

No matter what the time I think that under perfect conditions and even preprograming the phrases in it would be between 1 minute and a minute and a half. After several attemps I was able to get the time down to 1.42 for a mule and had very little delay, pretyped the first phrase before starting and typed the other while the page loaded made only 1 minor selection error adding only a fraction to the time.

This has been an issue with all these quests. Whith these quests who cares and why would they need a time that quick - everyone gets the prize. The problem is the staff quests with limited prizes and I think this demonstrates that something fishy is up. I have no proof nor the technical knowledge of how one would accomplish such times but I suspect that they program the whole thing in to some program to run it on its. own. Only a computer could perform the tasks that fast. I Know it is possible, I just don't understand why.

Such greed exists in such an innocent game - very disturbing.

I KNOW WHY IT IS LIKE THAT!

It's a bug, it happened to me when i was in a host quest, when the quest questions pops up too much, i clicked it while it pops up too much, and IT RESETED MY TIME!! when i was playing the host game i waited a while bc it wasn't fair for alot of ppl.

Everyone a bug like that resets your time, that's how everyone get way way fewer time!

I also noticed the 23 second time when I was running a mule through- and when this time was present there was still wait times to get into the first room- they weren't as long as when I started but still about 9 people in queue and no rooms without a queue.

So unless as a previous poster mentioned there was some bug that reset their quest time- I find it highly unlikely that those times are valid.

I was not rushing- used no preset typing and had a time of roughly 2 minutes- I'm sure I could have lowered it by a few seconds- but I consider my computer/connection to be average- it isn't super fast or super powerful but isn't dial up either...

If I were staff I would seriously question this- they did the questions less than 1 per second- it takes longer for the questions to pop up and be answered and tell you it is right than 1 second.

Just makes me even more discouraged to try the host quest games. I figure people cheat but I hope they catch anyone who used a programmer to win a quest prize. Alot isn't pre progamming them like using short keys also cheating. No wonder I am in the 250's on every quest. Now here a simple solutions. For the first say 150 give no prize and instead give us slower folks a break and give prizes for 151 to 350. Some of us would be so much happier :)

If this is a bug as some are saying. Would it be considered cheating? What if the person didn't notice there time? I sometimes just go through questions and don't notice time. What would or could staff do?

I say leave this one to the "Twilight Zone"

You and I, as well as many others know what they could and sometimes would do, as we saw from the code issue. Knowing what an uproar that created, I am sure any action would meet similar response.

If it IS a bug (and we know they have many right now) then they should work to resolve it. The underlying problem remains the structure of these quests, particularly through the machine. The question is more of what they should do, and they currently seem resolved to do nothing, so we all live with it and make interesting and obvious observations.

There is a bug currently that I have to go back to one of my rooms in between each question for about the first 6 questions now. (It started out between the first 2, then 3, now up to 6: grrr) The times get really funny with this bug. The time listed on the question page never matches the time on the next question page which never matches the ending time for the quest.

I don't know if that has anything to do with it but there are definitely some time bugs out there.

one time i was doing a host quest and when i finished the quest, my timer was still ticking. so i guess it was a bug that got that person a quick (VERY quick) time.

I tried that once in my own quest and the cheaters were smart enough to not cheat that time and it left me with angry "normal" players who didn't get prizes. -_-' You just can't win. Lol.

Actually I submitted a suggestion to VMK. We have to test our quest, so we know how fast it should normally be done in. I think they should create a feature that lets us set the minimum time it can be done in. And if it's done in less time that what is set, the score is automatically dq'd.

it happened to me. 10 times even! the quest window wouldnt show up so i just kept clicking and when it finally showed up it started my time over and i was so happy bc i was 30 min into a quest bc of dumb dc!

I really Like this thought. this is the best answer I have heard to this problem yet and of course the Minimum time would be a secret.

another thought would also be... to make the List of prizes a "complete list" of the prizes that will be given away but not shown in the order that they a given. still let the owner select the order just not have to share that info.

Hmm... either something was seriously wrong with the timer, or that person managed to run a haxalicious run. I mean, that person spent less than a second on at least 2 of those, and a second on each of the rest...
