23 Days...Brilliant or Idiodic?

I hope to post pictures soon. I need to finish writing it first though. Real life has put a damper on my "free" time. Going back to work tonight really sucked. oh well, now I can start saving for our next trip. I hope to work on the trip report again later tonight, but no promises.

Wow, I am amazed, Deb. I think you guys earn the title of "Best Park Commandos"! I just hope we can all keep up with you in October! ;)

Can't wait to read more, and to see those pics! :thumbsup2

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: We took it easy this vacation. We took time off to spend in the resorts which we have never done before. While it appears that we were super busy we actually had a relaxing time for the most part.

Day 19

We decided to spend a bit of time at the resort this morning if I remember correctly. I must admit that my memory fades quickly as to what we did each day. I really should have done a better job documenting while there, but time just seems to slip away while having so much fun. We decided to head to the OKW pool for a while. We got there around 9:30 AM, but the slide doesn’t open until 10 AM. We used the time to play in the water. Just before 10 a lifeguard asked DS 4 if he wanted to be her helper and he declined as he was having way to much fun using Mom and Dad as water play toys. I quickly found DS 11 and the lifeguard asked him to help her out. DS 11 hadn’t been chosen to do much so it was nice for him. She gave him a pirate bandana and a plastic hook. She got everyone’s attention and told them that he would be testing out the slide to make sure it was safe for everyone. He said some magic words and voila the water started running. He climbed to the top and was the first one down. He loved the bandana and hook and all the attention. He even got to wear the bandana and hook while swimming. She then presented him (well actually me as he was soaking wet) with a magical moment’s certificate. We all took turns on the slide; it was a fun water slide. We left the pool area around 11 AM as DS 4 needed a nap before going into a park. I don’t remember what the rest of us did, but I’m sure it wasn’t too exciting. We needed to be at the Atlantic Dance Hall for the 4 PM Welcome Home Wednesday DVC get together. We ended up driving to the Boardwalk and going to the party from there. The kids had enjoyed watching the game show the previous week and they were determined to be selected to answer a question as they wanted to win the special DVC pins that were awarded as prizes. Thankfully DS 11 was selected and answered the question correctly with a little help from Dee VeeCee, the MC. They gave both him and DS 9 a pin which made them happy. After the party we headed over to the ESPN club for dinner. We got there just before 5 PM and were immediately shown to a table. Everyone ate well and a radio show was about to begin as we were leaving. There was a preshow that kept us entertained with sports Trivia.

We walked back to the car and drove to MGM. It was Evening EMH so the park was open until midnight. On our way in we heard some CMs talking about the space shuttle launch and they were commenting that we should be able to see it any minute. We decided to sit on a bench near the bus stops to see what we could see. We actually could see the fire ball for several seconds before it disappeared into the atmosphere.

Day19004.jpg

We went in and hit a few rides/shows. I know that we did Muppets and Indiana Jones then headed to Fantasmic. That is our favorite Nightime Show as I’ve mentioned before and my DM hadn’t seen it yet this trip. Surprisingly the theater was not completely full though it was pretty close. There was a collision between 2 of the Princess boats which caused one to get stuck on the wall for a few moments, but they remedied the situation and of course my hero Mickey saved the day. After Fantasmic we went on Rockin Roller Coaster and the Great Movie Ride. We also did the Dance Party in Playhouse Disney. The kids each had ballon toys made, DS11 and DS9 got swords and DS4 got Mickey Ears. Very fun. The night passes quickly and it was midnight before we knew it. We drove back to the resort and headed to bed.

Day 20

This was our last planned day for MGM. I had also scheduled us for breakfast at Chef Mickey’s. It was the meal that DS 11 had chosen for us to do. The ADR was for 8:30 AM. We drove to the Contemporary. Breakfast was at 8:30 AM. It was the typical breakfast buffet food that you find all over WDW. We met all of the character’s that were there. We all found plenty of items and were quickly stuffed.

We got back into the car and drove to MGM. The boys wanted my DM to see Lights, Motors Action so they headed there. I took the autograph pages and camera and started searching out characters. I found a few. I saw Emile, Leo and Clara Cluck. I can’t remember what else we did while there, but we kept ourselves busy until about 2 PM.

At that time we headed over to Epcot via the Friendship boat. We arrived at Summer on the Savannah just as it was starting. The boys had a great time dancing and playing games. We enjoyed our ice creams and fruit punch and stayed there until around 4:30 PM. At that time we headed back to MGM.

I had been told that different character’s would be out for the evening meet and greets. Jafar was the only one we hadn’t seen so we caught him. Since it was still very hot out we decided to pack it in for the day. We all needed showers when we got back as we were all soaked with sweat. After relaxing for a while DM and I decided to head over to Downtown Disney to pick up a couple of things the boys had seen earlier in the week, but had not picked up. We drove over and had to park in Lot 4 since all of the other lots were full. We hit the Virgin Megastore then took a water taxi to the Marketplace. We hit the World of Disney store which was crazy busy. We also checked out a couple of other stores before walking back to the car. When we got back we packed up as much as we could and headed to bed.

Day 21

This was to be our last moving day. We would be moving into a cabin at Fort wilderness for the last two nights of our stay. I thought that I may get up early and run over to check in. That didn’t work out as well as I thought it might, but I did manage to get there before 8 AM. The staff was very helpful and listened to our needs and wants before assigning us to a loop. Unfortunately the cabin was not ready. I headed back to OKW and we got the boys ready for the day and finished packing. We loaded everything into the car. I would drive to FW and park in the Outpost parking lot then I would take a boat from FW to MK. The rest of the family would take a bus from OKW to MK. As they got to the bus stop at OKW they were just in time to meet the arriving mouse keepers. They were on parade in decked out golf carts handing out fun key chains and noise makers. The boys loved it. I saw it happen as I drove by. It only took me about 10 minutes to get over to the Fort, but took an hour to get from the Outpost to the MK. I took a bus to the front, then a boat to the Contemporary since I had just missed the MK boat. From there I took the monorail to the MK. My family got there about 45 minutes before me and found some shade to wait in.

We wanted to do some of the rides and shows that we had missed. I don’t remember exactly what we did, but I know we did the Jungle Cruise, Pirate’s, Splash and some souvenir shopping for my DM. It was really hot. I think we may have also done a bit of Fantasyland. I check with FW around 2 PM and our cabin was ready so we headed out. The family went straight to the cabin and I went to the outpost and got the car. We moved in, had a snack then took a nap. We were all pretty tired and we knew that we’d have a busy night. After our nap DM and I took a bus to the Trail’s End and got a couple of take out meals. 2 meals was plenty to feed us all. After eating we walked over to the campfire program. That is always a favorite for us. DS 11 decided to stay at the cabin and watch a movie on TV and we were ok with that. We got to the campfire in plenty of time to meet Chip and Dale. A woman sitting next to me struck up a conversation. Turns out her DH is webmaster Bob. We had a nice chat during the preshow. Then they left. I also got to meet another DISer, Brendita. We had planned to meet up at the campfire, but we both had so many things happening that it was iffy at best. It was so nice to finally meet her. Her and her son were so nice. My DS 4 loved them and he and I sat with them during the movie. The movie was Freaky Friday starring Lindsay Lohan. It was a beautiful night and we had a lot of fun. I also had the opportunity to talk to Sundee for a few minutes. She is such a nice lady. I also know that she is a DIS member and reads on the Fort Wilderness Board. So I’d like to send a shout out to Webmaster Bob, Brendita and Miss Sundee. It was so nice to meet you all.

Day 22

Today was our last day to enjoy all that WDW had to offer. Can you believe that we hadn’t done it all in the 3 weeks that we’d been there. Since we didn’t get to bed until 3 PM the previous night the plan was to let everyone sleep as late as they cared too. Everyone except dh and I that is. We had booked the new Fort Wilderness Segway tour and it started at 8:30 AM. We were up by 7:15 AM to catch a bus to the Settlement for the tour. We arrived early and sat on the porch of Pioneer Hall for a bit enjoying the rocking chairs and scenery. We then headed to the entrance of the Backyard BBQ area which is where the tour met. There were already several other people there. Robert and Ron were our tour guides. They got us all signed in and had us sign waivers in case we were to injure ourselves. Then we all received our lovely bicycle helmets and our complimentary bottle of water. We watched a brief video on how to operate a segway safely then we were shown to our X2 Segways. They are the off road version complete with larger knobby tires. They gave us an orientation to the machines and helped up mount and dismount them. I must say it was a bit rocky for the first couple of minutes, but they were actually very easy to maneuver. We ended up with 7 people in our group plus the 2 instructors. It was supposed to be a larger group, but some people no showed. 6 out of 7 of us were easily able to handle the machines and easily navigated the training course. One lady had a bit more difficulty. It seemed to be a balance issue, but she managed to complete the tour with few mishaps. Once the training course was mastered we were taken out on the trails in and around Fort Wilderness. Ron had done all of the mechanical training and now Robert took over as tour guide. He was very funny and you couldn’t/shouldn’t believe half of what he told you. Overall I enjoyed the tour. I thought that riding the Segways was a blast however the tour itself was kind of boring. There wasn’t a lot of trivia or sites to see so he spent a lot of time pointing our different types of vegetation. I’m really not a plant person so it was boring for me though the stuff he made up about the plants was quite funny. The different types of terrain that we encountered spiced things up a bit. We experienced concrete, dirt, sand, rough terrain with tree roots and such and grassy areas. We even road over to the Wilderness Lodge. I guess that all totaled we covered about 4 miles in the 2 ½ hours. Robert threw in some trivia questions along the way, but no one even came close to answering them correctly. When the tour finished we were each given a trading pin. It was not specific to the tour, but they said that Disney is working on designing one.

Days20-22147.jpg

Days20-22148.jpg

After the tour we headed to the Trails End to pick up a couple of to go breakfasts to take back. Two To Go breakfasts was enough to feed all 6 of us and we had leftovers. That has got to be the best dining value on Disney property. We were getting very close to our 24 hours out check in window for Southwest so we needed to get to FW concierge before heading out for the day. As luck would have it the concierge window was at Pioneer Hall and we needed to walk right by there to get to the boat dock. We dressed everyone (except DM who didn’t want a matching T-shirt) in our Pirate’s T-shirts and grabbed the kids eye patches and our light up pirate necklaces that I had bought at Big Lots for $ .50 each and headed out. We stopped and checked in for our flight. We got group A. Now we were really off. We just missed the boat to the MK so we sat in the shade on the beach and called DD to make sure that he was all set to pick us up at the airport tomorrow. We had a nice chat and the boat arrived. We took the boat to MK then caught the monorail to the TTC then the monorail to Epcot. DS 11 was insistent that we see the candy lady one last time. She had been on vacation the last week and my DM hadn’t seen her. We had been told earlier in the week that she would be back on the 11th so we made it a priority to be there. As we entered the park we went into innovations to have our Disney Visa photo taken. While the family waited in line I headed to Guest Relations to check on the times for the Candy Lady’s show. Turns out she was not back so son was very disappointed. This began our string of bad luck and misinformation. While at Guest Relations I also inquired as to which character’s would be out around WS. Marie was supposed to be out in France at 2:20. It was nearly 2 PM at that point so we had the photo taken and ran to get to France. We showed up at 2:23 PM and no Marie. I went into the first shop and she had just checked with the Character hotline and Marie would not be coming after all. Now how the character hotline had her appearing just 20 minutes earlier was a bit irritating, but what could we do. Obviously we were character hunting since it was our last day. We went to Japan next and my DM bought the boys a few souvenirs there. They love Pokemon cards and stuffies so they were in heaven. As we continued around the WS we saw Abu with Aladdin in Morocco. We tried to meet him, but the line was closed. He would be out later, but we would not be around. Disappointed again. We knew that 2 of the 3 Cabrellaros would be out in Mexico at 3:30 PM so that was the plan. Of course since this information came from the hot line we wondered how true it would be. We arrived early so we rode the boat ride then watched the glass artisan. We saw some cute little glass mickeys with little heart birthstones and my middle son had been looking for something with his birthstone the entire trip, but everything had been too girly. This was perfect. We went to buy one and sure enough they were out of the October ones. Anyone see the theme of our day? So disappointed again we headed out to wait for the characters. 3:30 PM came and went. A photo pass photographer did show up and she had them arriving at 3:40 PM. We continued to wait though we were getting nervous as we had dinner reservations at Liberty Tree Tavern at 4:30 PM. Finally Donald and Jose came out and since we were first in line we got the autographs and photos and headed off. I headed to pick up our Disney Visa photos and my family went for drinks. We met up at the photo shop and hurried to catch the monorail. The travel went fairly smoothly though the kids had hoped to get to ride in the front. We rode 4 monorails that day and never had the opportunity. Anyway…we got to the Magic Kingdom and entered the park using our P & P tickets. We got our wrist bands and loot bags and headed off as fast as we could to Liberty Tree Tavern. We arrived and were only 5 minutes late. We waited a couple of minutes then were shown to our table. The character’s made their way around twice while we were there. I would say that the restaurant was only about ½ full at that time. The food was good. DH, DM, DS 9 and myself ate like champs. DS 11 and DS 4 didn’t really care for the choices too much but we all ate enough to be full.

After dinner DS 4 decided that we must do Splash Mountain. So off we went. The lines were not horrible. We did Splash then Pirate’s of the Caribbean. The kids though we should ride it since we were attending the Pirate’s and Princess Party. It was nearly 7 PM when we got off the ride. We decided to cue up for the Jack Sparrow meet and greet. The line was out to the door. There were 3 officials standing out front in there white dress shirts with the Pirate and Princess Party coordinator emblems on them. They told us that it would be 30 minutes from this point. They lied!!! We ended up waiting 1 ½ hours to see him. I would not have even considered waiting 1 ½ hours to see any character. By the time we had 45 minutes vested in the wait we didn’t want to get out of line empty handed. Needless to say that we were very disappointed to have wasted so much time and we missed the first parade. We ended up heading toward frontier land and came across some Booty spots and the first character spot. It was for Aladdin and his guards. We asked about Abu and were told that he was not appearing. Since I had been told in Morocco earlier that he would be out at the party. So we continued into Adventureland collecting our candy and beads as we went. Who do we bump into? Genie and Abu. We were excited to see them, but disappointed in having received more bad info. We jumped into line and were told that Abu would be out for 20 more minutes. The CM said that we would make it. So we waited. The line moved very slowly and we realized about 15 minutes in that we would not meet Abu. There was a couple of people that we had befriended in the Jack Sparrow line that were about 10 people ahead of us. The were off duty CMs and had spent a lot of time playing with DS 4 in the last line. We asked them if they minded getting Abu’s autograph for us and they did!!! I snapped a few photos of him between kids and he left before we got to the front of the line. We got out of line since we had met Jasmine before. We headed into frontier land and collected all our booty. Onto Liberty square then into fantasyland. We had missed the first parade and were determined not to miss the second one. We also wanted to see the fireworks. We walked in front of the castle about 15 minutes before the fireworks were scheduled to start. There was a recording playing stating the you could see the fireworks from anywhere in the park. Now I should have know better, but we had already wasted so much time that we wanted to keep moving. We went into tomorrow land. DS 4 wanted to ride the TTA so we decided it would get us off our feet for a few minutes and give us a chance to see where the activities were set up. Well the fireworks started while we were on the ride. Between being in and out of buildings and the roof to the ride we could hardly see any of the fireworks. We got off and tried to find a good location, but there are so many trees in that area that there really was no unobstructed view and you could not hear any of the music or storyline. Yet another disappointment. We continued by Space Mountain using the back path to Mickey’s Toontown Fair. We entered the Hall of Fame and noticed that Perla and Suzy were appearing. We had seen all of the other character’s that were appearing. Because of the wheelchair we had been directed to the exit several times during our trip. We headed in through the exit and waited for 10 minutes or so. A CM asked us who we wanted to see then disappeared. Another CM came out and told us that the GAC that we have had our entire trip does not include P & P party activites. She wanted us to go to guest relations to get a special “entertainment” pass. I explained that Guest Relations was completely on the other side of the park and that no one had informed us of this. She was very adamant and not nice at all. We left. We continued into Fantasyland and saw Lady Tremaine and the Stepsister’s. Of course the line was closed…They would be back at 11 PM. We went into Liberty Square and found a place to wait for the parade. We had seen Pocohantas and John Smith earlier, but the line was closed. They were to be back out at 10 PM it was now 10:15 PM. I headed back there. Guess what. The line was again closed. I begged the CM to just get his autograph for me. After the last person went he asked John Smith to sign. He was happy to do so and loved his own personal autograph page. I snapped a few photos while he signed. He did offer to pose, but I declined as it wasn’t really my turn. I returned to my family to watch the parade. This is when I noticed that the low battery warning was flashing. I frantically searched for my extra batteries, they were not in our stroller bags. I began to carefully take parade photos, limiting myself to only one photo of each float. I was sure that the battery would die any second. Thankfully we made it through the parade and I got photos of most of it. Next we headed back to the Lady Tremaine/Stepsisters area. There was no line formed, but several people were lingering, waiting. They came out on time and we formed a line. Lady Tremaine was thrilled with her autograph page and loved that someone actually knew who they were. The stepsisters were a bit put off that I had put them both on one page. They signed, but carried on the whole time. We got there photos and decided that we had had enough. We headed toward the front. We did a little last minute shopping then went to have some photo pass cards combined. This was not to be as the line must have been 100 people deep. I decided to do it from home later. I ran into the Candy Store to buy a few sodas to take back with us knowing that the trading post was closed. The CM at the register asked what I thought of the Party and I told him my concerns. He suggested that I go to guest relations just to let them know my impressions. I decided that I would, not so much to complain, but more to give them feedback in hopes that they would improve the party.

These were the off duty CMs that Colby befriended in the line to meet Captian Jack Sparrow. He also got their autographs as he thought they were really pirates.

You will also notice in the above photo that I am fully prepared for any situation that Disney could throw at me with my utility belt. DH decided that I had more gadgets around my waist than Batman. lol. I was able to manage my camera, cell phone, park tickets and DS9's GAC card as well as my wallet, room keys, chap stick and a few trading pins. Everything was at the ready. You'll notice that it's not too pretty, but it worked really well.

These were my thoughts on the party that I told to Guest Relations. Of the 3 parties that we have attended (MNSSHP, MVMCP and P&P Party) this was by far our least favorite. We had been told numerous times that we would get to meet many of the Princesses with their Prince’s, other than Aladdin who is always out and John Smith there were no Princes to be found. The lines for the meet and greets were very long and they only appeared for short periods of time. It was nearly impossible to see anyone. We were very disappointed with being told 30 minutes to meet Captain Jack only to actually wait 1 ½ hours. We also mentioned our GAC experience in Toon Town. Turns out that the CM was wrong. There are no special GAC cards for the parties. They used to do that years ago, but no longer do. They actually brought a manager out to get information from us so that they could make sure they correct the people at that area before anyone else has a negative experience. They wanted to give us complimentary tickets to Wednesday’s party, but we would not be in Orlando as our vacation was over. I wasn’t looking for anything anyway, but I really hoped that they could make some positive changes since we had so enjoyed the other parties that they hold.

We had to have our photo taken on June's Bench beforfe we left

Day 23

I was up before 6:30 AM and in the shower. I knew that it would take me a while to get everyone up and moving and make sure that we had everything packed. I also knew that it was going to be hard finding room for everything. The rain gear and stroller items had not been repacked since our arrival since we were constantly caring them. Somehow I managed to find room for everything without having to use the beach bag as an additional piece of luggage. I did however have concerns as to the weight of one bag. I called the Fort Wilderness front desk and they told me that they had a scale that I could weigh our luggage on. We loaded the car and drove to the Outpost. They weighed the bag and it was 49.5 lbs. I decided to move our toiletry bag to another bag just to be safe. We drove to the Hess Station and filled up. We would top off just before returning the car. We took 417 to the airport and arrived about 2 ½ hours prior to our departure. I forgot to top off the car, but it was still registering full and Alamo checked out the car and gave us the ok to leave. We dragged all of our luggage to the terminal. There were massive lines for Southwest. The lines were much longer than the cue ropes. We were a bit concerned about getting through in time, but we were able to get the luggage checked in with about 1 ½ hours to go. The heaviest bag ended up being 47 lbs so we had done good with the packing, no extra fees for us. Woo Hoo. We took the tram to our gate and lined up for the security check. The carryon with the 3 lollipops from the Candy lady, a couple of sets of salt and pepper shakers and a Mickey Serving Plate tested postitive for explosive residue. I have no idea why. The had to completely remove everything and hand check each item. Then they had to pat me down as I was now a suspect…It didn’t take too long and the TSA agent did a good job repacking everything. We were off to wait at the gate. Since DS 9 was in his wheelchair we would need to preboard. We were sitting in a gate in front of a Ben & Jerry’s so we got some yummy snacks to pass the time. We knew that this would be our last yummy snack for a while since our clothes were fitting much tighter than when we arrived in Orlando. The plane arrived on time and we were loaded quickly. We left on time. DS 11 took Sudafed and Dramamine about an hour before departure so he was asleep before take off. DS 4 played a while into the trip then he too fell asleep. I tried to nap, but was unable to get comfortable and boy was I dog tired by then. DH, DS 9 and DM were in the row behind us. DH took a couple of cat naps and DS 9 talked with my DM during the entire flight which did not allow her a nap. We arrived at our gate in Manchester about 12 minutes early. The flight crew was hilarious. One of them pretended to be a horse on the overhead sound system and had us all in hysterics. Then the female sang us a song…”We love you, you love us…We are faster than the bus…something? You can fly free if you marry one of us” She got a rousing ovation then they told us to get out. So we did. I waited for the wheelchair and stroller with DS 9 and the others waited in the terminal for us. DD was waiting for us on the other side of security. We had a joyful reunion then headed for our luggage. It took quite a while to get all of our bags, but eventually they all showed up. It was a bit of a walk to the car and somehow we managed to cram everything and everyone in. About 1 ½ hours later we were home. DSIL had a lasagna cooking in our oven, which was a wonderful surprise. The kids had missed each other and spent a couple of hours playing together. Dnephew had learned to ride a 2 wheeler without training wheels while we were away so he had to show us all. He was really good at it too. Dneice and Dnephew were also anxious to see what we had brought them back. After dinner we began to unpack, this was not going to be fun.

Post trip

We’ve been home about a day and a half now. The luggage is put away although there are still many things that need to be put away. There is a huge stack of mail to sort through and bills to pay. I also only have 5 days to take care of our photo pass pictures before they start to disappear. Reality has definitely set in. DH and I both went back to work yesterday and the boys will be starting school in a couple of weeks. The weather here has been in the low 70’s which is quite a shock after the 100 degree weather that we had become accustomed too.

I titled my trip report 23 day brilliant or idiotic so here is my answer to the question. I can actually say that we took a vacation from reality. We were able to experience so much that Disney has to offer and I can honestly say that we didn’t do it all, but we did do everything that we wanted to do. We also took time to enjoy all of our resorts and to explore all that they had to offer which is something that we have never done before. Usually we return from vacation so exhausted that we need a vacation, but not so much this trip. Even though it sounds like we were commando, it was definitely a MUCH slower pace than any of our past trips with far fewer melt downs. It was hard being away from our cat for 23 days and we missed him and he also missed us. He wouldn’t even acknowledge us for several hours when we got home, but he is now seeking our attention. We also came home to a house full of flies and some not so pleasant smells that come from a house being closed up for 3 weeks. Even though family was in and out daily caring for our cat. Things are under control and back to normal for the most part now.

Would we go for 3 weeks again…ABSOLUTELY. We really enjoyed the trip even with a few small bumps along the way. We would not do 6 resorts again; all the moving caused much more work than it was worth though we did gain valuable insight on each resort. We also made our DVC points stretch much farther by not using them on most Fridays and Saturdays.

We would definitely stay at OKW again even with the check in problems. The villas are so spacious. I also heard the manager there make a comment to someone checking in next to us that they do not care how many people you have in your villa. You may invite as many people as you like, but you can only have 8 keys and only 8 people on the dining plan. The family had 9 people plus a child under 3. They wanted keys and dining for each, but he manager said that there was absolutely no way to do that. He also stated several times that they could have the 10 people without any problems. I thought this was interesting for the manager to say.

Future plans for the Brooks clan…DH and I will be joining some DIS friends for a whirlwind weekend in October. We will be staying at POP and this will be our first weekend away without the kids EVER. We are pretty excited and the kids are not happy that they will not be going. The boys are already ready to go back. We are also in the early planning stages for our summer vacation next year. We are planning another 3 weeks at WDW, this time we will be towing our travel trailer down and staying at the Campground. We’ve done this several trips before and we truly enjoy the campground. It will be nice not having to move every few days. We made sure to save enough DVC points to cover that vacation. That means that park tickets and accommodations are already paid for. We are also toying with taking a 3 or 4 day cruise during the stay. We’ve always wanted to do a Disney cruise, but we haven’t eliminated any cruise lines at this point. At least one other DIS family plans to stay at the campground during this time too and we are hoping that other DIS friends will join us. It was wonderful meeting some DIS families on our journeys and we can’t wait to meet more. We have made some really great friends on the DIS and specifically on the DDA thread.

Now I bid you adieu and thank you all for reading my ramblings. It was a great time for our family with many memories to last a lifetime. I will try to post some pictures in the next few days.

Here's a question for all of you that are still reading along. Would you like me to go back and add photos to each day or would you like the photos added at the end so that you won't have to go back to page one and work your way through again?

Great trip report - I can't imagine being there for 23 days - wow! I would vote to just add the photos at the end :goodvibes

Well to make the report perfect (it almost is now) then you should put the pictures in order of the posts so they make sense but if you just want to finish this report quickly add them at the end. I vote for in order though. Thanks for the great report, read the whole thing today at work, made my day go by quickly.

Photos have been added to days 1, 2, & 3. There are plenty more to come. I'm not sure how many thousands of pictures we took, but there are a lot to weed through. We had 295 photopass photos alone

Enjoy

Deb, that was a great report! I need to go back and re-read it more slowly when I have more time. I can't wait to see the rest of the photos added in! It doesn't matter to me where they are as long as I get to see them.

I must admit to feeling a little depressed when your trip report came to an end. So not only do I live vicariously through trip reports, I also get the post-trip depression.

I'm sorry that the P&P party (and that whole day) was such a let-down.

I told you that the "candy lady" was phenomenal!!!

What a great read, Deb! I was going to ask which DVC resort you guys liked the most - sounds like it was OKW. We will definitely have to try it sometime - for some reason, though, that's the one that appeals the least to me. Too much pink, maybe? :confused3 :goodvibes

Oh, another tip as I was reading through your report - we've found a way around those heinous SW check-in lines at MCO. Just go right outside the terminal, and check your bags with the SW skycaps/curbside check-in. DH and I did that on our trip in March, when we had serious concerns about getting through the line. I had a hunch, walked outside, and saw the skycaps just waiting to assist us. We were on our way in a matter of minutes; the woman that was just behind us in the original line raced up to the gate, just as we were boarding.

Can't wait to see more pics!

I've added lots more photos and still have a few more days to go. I hope you are all enjoying.

Deb
