Here I sit writing my pretrip report on the eve of our departure to the world. Woo Hoo. This trip has been in the planning stages since we bought into DVC in February of 2006. We have a lot of points to use so we are planning a 23 day WDW Extravaganza from July 21 - Aug 12. Since I am a very practical person we decided to buy Premium Annual Passes and make another 3 week trip next summer at the Fort Wilderness campground using more DVC points and the AP’s. Saying that I am Disney obsessed would be an understatement. I have made all the ADRs, booked the best valued flights, secured a great deal on a midsized SUV for the entire trip, made many matching t-shirts for the whole family and so much more. My DH, kitchensinkguy is almost as excited as me and our boys are bouncing off the walls with excitement…at least they were before they went to bed.

We have made many prior trips to the World, but none of this length. Either this is a brilliant plan or an over planned catastrophe in the making. I think that with 23 days we should be able to do and see whatever we want and have down time to enjoy the DVC resorts. We will be resort hopping because we want to try out as many of the DVC resort as we reasonable can. This trip will be a bit different than past trips not only because of the length of our vacation but because we will be making our first trip with a pediatric wheelchair. You see, all of our boys suffer from pesplano vulgas and instability of joints which results in severely flat feet. The oldest has the least problems and can function fairly well in all situations. Our DS 9 has the most severe condition and if he spends any length of time on his feet the result is extreme leg pain radiating from the feet all the way to the hips. We’ve spent way too many nights with him crying in agony. The youngest is pretty severely afflicted also, but he is still young enough to put in a regular stroller. I think that using his wheelchair is the thing that I am most dreading. We know that he HAS to use it or we will all suffer, but I also know that his disability is invisible and we will probably be unfairly judged by those that see him in it or out of it. They are all able to walk and run, but not for any great length of time.

So the bags are packed and we are about to head off to bed. Tomorrow we will fly to Orlando and spend a little time at Downtown Disney activating our passes and getting a bite to eat at the Earl of Sandwich. Then off to Typhoon Lagoon!!

Our first night is at POR. The next 7 at Saratoga Springs (our home resort). Then to BWV for 5 nights, offsite at the Buena Vista Suites for 2 nights, OKW for 5 nights and finally the Cabins at FW for the remaining 2 nights. We will be meeting other DISers while there. Dinner with Babytrees early in our trip and a campfire and movie with Brendita at the end of our vacation. My mother will be flying in to join us for the last 9 days.

I did my online check in this morning and secured Group A seating on our southwest flight. All that can be done is done so now I will end the pretrip.

We stayed at POR and BWI on a split stay. If the regular pools get to crowded, find the quiet pools, so worth it.

Have a great time.

Here's Wishing a Magical Trip for the family, your DDA friends will be anxiously awaiting updates!

I have arthritis and you would not know it by looking at me. It has taught me that things are not always as them seem. It should be a nice and relaxing trip because you certainly have enough time to do everything. Have fun and don't forget to give us all of the details when you return!:thumbsup2

Have a BALL, Deb and Chris and the guys!! :yay:

Deb - I had no idea that the worry of the wheelchair has been in the back of your mind. You all just go ahead and have a great time. Forget what other people think. (I know, easier said than done). You are doing what is best for your family so they will remember this as one of the best family vacations ever! You're creating a lifetime of wonderful memories.

Deb I will be anxiously waiting to hear about your trip!

I know you will all have the best of times :goodvibes

WOW!!! That would be a dream of mine to go to WDW for 3 weeks! DH & I are going for 2 weeks next year and I am really excited! I find that 1 week is tooooo short and I feel rushed to see everything! This way with your 3 weeks, you won't feel rushed and can take your time with the boys :goodvibes Have a magical and wonderful time, take lots of pics and I can't wait to read you TR when you get back!!
