Hey everyone,

I make ADRs for our trip on Sept. 5th. I kind of have an idea of where to go, but I'm freaked out by 1) the online system scares me and 2) they're now having free dining during our Dec. trip, which gives me reason to believe I won't get what I want. Last two years I got pretty much everything I wanted, but there was no free dining to consider. This year we're trying to do more breakfasts and early lunches, with three kids under 9 we figure they do better at TS restuarants earlier in the day.

I don't even know where to start. I tried looking at the online ressy thing and I was just confused. Is there a thread anywhere with help that I've missed? I'm FREAKING OUT, people. This was supposed to be fun!

Thanks in advance for any and all suggestions, advice, or commiseration.

If you are worried about making your ADRs online, then just call. Call as soon as the line opens. 7 AM eastern time.

Doing it online is easy though. You just go here..http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/restaurants/

You then click on the location of where your restaurant you want to make is, and all the restaurants show up on the right side. Enter the times you want, and book it. It's easy so don't stress.

If it makes you feel better, play around with the website before actually making your ADRS. Good luck :)

if it will make you feel any better....I got a little weirded out too by the on line and I called and made our first reservations.......why not call and that way you can write your confirmation numbers after you get your ressie.....

Thanks for your replies. I have considered calling, but people seem to be having more success online. I guess what I'm worried about is hearing people not getting anything they want b/c of free dining. When I originally booked there wasn't a free dining deal for our dates, now there is. We're there Dec 4th through 12th. Last Dec we just missed free dining, I had no trouble with ressies. I guess I'll just play around with the site and see how it goes. I was hoping maybe someone could give me some tips to make it easier.

Thanks again!

Three months ago, when people were making their ADRs for this free dining period, most people DID get what they wanted. As long as you call at the 90 day mark you should get most of what you want. That said, you should have a back up plan for the most popular places (like Ohana, Chef Mickey's and Le Cellier).

If you spend any time on the Disboards, you will see that there are plenty of people who panic at potential and imagined issues.

You are looking for mainly breakfasts and lunches, right? So I think you'll be fine.

I called 90 days out from my 9/11 arrival day and since I overslept (my DD was out until 3 a.m. - it was grad night) my first call was at 10 a.m. and I got pretty much everything I wanted and at the times I wanted. I alternated dinners, lunches and character breakfasts for my TS meals. The only thing I could not get was 'Ohana on my anniversary, but I got Kona instead. A week or two later I found 'Ohana for our arrival day when I was playing with the online system. So I ended up getting every restaurant I wanted, although on different days than my original plan. I count that as 100% successful!

So I think you'll be fine. If you're not comfortable booking online, get what you can over the phone, then try to tweak/ upgrade them online later. You'll have the security of having ADR's in hand as well as the luxury of trying to make them better.
