C.Ann. Could I ask a question and I'm not asking to be jerky. I'm just curious why all the use of the " "'s around words.

:hug:Oh C.Ann it sounds like you are doing the best anyone could in the situation. I am proud of you for taking the lead and trying to help--you are really in a tough spot:goodvibes Your neighbors are all lucky to have you. I am leacing for a week in Denamrk (with MY in laws) tomorrow but will have to pop on here first thing when I get back and find out how it all worked out.

In the meantime--do you remember the episode of Little House on the Prarie when Nellie Olsen is at Laura's birthdya party and just being her usual horrid little self? Laura convinces Nellie there is something special in the water and leads her to where she knows there is a crab that will pinch Nellie's toe. Maybe you have a resident crab up at the lake that you can lead G to:lmao:

That's a good question.. LOL I didn't even realize I was doing it.. :confused3 If I figure it out, I'll let you know.. ;)

Is it annoying? I know in the past people have commented on the fact that I put more than one period after a sentence, but I've done that for years and years.. Don't know why - I just do..:goodvibes

I wouldn't call it annoying but more distracting I guess. Makes it harder (at least for me) to read, especially in longer posts.

C. Ann, you are a genuinely good person, and anyone would be lucky to call you their friend. I hope "G" appreciates what you're about to do for her. You may just save her life.

Oh - I loved Little House On the Prairie!! Laura and Nellie - gosh - that sounds like us!! :rotfl:

No crabs that I know of - but we do have large snapping turtles.. I think that might be taking it a bit too far though..:rotfl::rotfl:

C. Ann--I like your quotes and double periods. It is your style--kind of like an accent but in writing:thumbsup2 But no capitals and no periods another matter entirely:eek:

So now I am going to think of G as Nellie in my head and you as the long suffering Laura:upsidedow I loved the books and the TV show--and, yeah I guess a snapping turtle might be a bit much--too bad:rolleyes1 You can't really get a boy to dip her braids in an ink well now can you?!?!

I put three dots after a clause to indicate a pause, sometimes to end a thought and other times to consider before I continue on... I never considered if it's annoying or not. It's my little bit of artistic license with language, glad to see you are like me with that. What a bore the world would be if were all the same...

LOL! I do both of those things! I love me some " " and . . . and I also enjoy an excessive use of !!!!!!!. I do use capital letters, paragraphs and try to spell check. I am my own unique person with my own unique (an probably annoying!) style!!!!

Back on topic. C.Ann I am glad you are able to see the humor in this and to adjust and adapt. I hate that you are missing the campfires that I know you enjoy so much because of one or two people, but glad you are protecting your sanity.

Now as for my suggestion: Big sign on your door that says "QUARANTINE: SWINE FLU" and teach your DGD and DD a secret knock pattern (one long, 2 short, 3 long. . .) and any other friends you do want to see. That way you don't even have to wait for the "it's me", you will know it is friend, not foe.

When we were kids and home alone, my mother used to call the phone, ring once, then hang up and call back. Unless we heard the ring once/call back pattern we weren't allowed to answer it...

I've got a way that'll even stop the dog - just let it be known you've been out hanging around my collie with her kennel cough or canine influenza induced pnemonia, whatever it is. They treat us like leppers at the vets and make us enter & exit thru the cat door. If her dog is intelligent enough to knock on the door with his tail, surely he'll stay away too when he hears about those germs...:guilty:
