thanks for letting me get this out.

I think that maybe she had good intentions. [:
Oh, I know she did. I just don't think they should get so invested in it because it's not their dog and they don't know the backstory or any of the story at all.

She's gonna be a trouble maker and I'm sure if you do not respond she will call animal services cause she thinks the dog is being neglected. Just tell her your dog 14 and has seen a vet & you'd be happy to allow her to speak to him/her to ease her mind. I know your thinking you shouldn't have to and you are absolutely right but sometimes it's easier to just cut her off at the knees.

I have a soft spot for older dogs.. ((hugs)) to the "pup"

I agree and I would be mad if someone said that about my dog. I would have just told her we were taking it to the vet in the morning, even if we weren't... :P

We were home alone at the time and there was a very slim chance of my parents coming home because they were at something very important, (which also revealed something new that turned my stomach) so we were kind of intimidated. . She hung around for 10 minutes though and I was ready to call the cops.

But thanks for letting me get that out you guys. It pisses me off so much though, but today was just a sucky day overall.

I'd have to agree with this. You never know what would happen if you didn't call back. I would just call back and politely explain that the vet says your dog is in good health, just old. If you don't call back she could either call animal control or keep pestering you about it.

If that doesn't work, you could always tell her, "Sure, we'll take him to another vet at YOUR expense."
