I haven't noticed a thing. Personally I hate when public forums are over moderated by iron fisted moderators. What particularly have you found offensive? Personally the whole world isn't founded on tulips and pixie dust and having one lone forum guarded by Mickey seems a bit naive and unrealistic.

I'm not SURE what the intent of your post was, but it seems sarcastic. I wasn't trying to offend anyone, but I spend a lot of time here and I am concerned about the quality of the board if referrals are suddenly allowed. It has the potential to become a total spam-fest. I also saw someone called a name that I was shocked was still posted.

Actually, it's not a public forum- it's privately owned and operated, and there's no reason to be sarcastic. As for naive- it's been referral free for a number of years so I don't believe it's unrealistic.

Do you know how to report a post?

In the box where your DIS name is, at the bottom, there's a circle and a triangle. The circle is gray if you're not signed in, and green if you are.

The triangle is white with a red border, and a vertical black line.

When you are in a thread, or reading a specific post, that you think needs attention, click the triangle. In the resulting screen, type a brief message then click the send (or similar) button below the box.

Someone WILL pay attention.

Thank you for responding politely. I did start there, and though it's always been promptly addressed in the past, it's been several days and I note several referral links that are still up. I'm going to edit the original post/title though as apparently this is going to bring out people's nasty sides and that was not at all the point.

Yes, I have seen several referral links lately for products and programs that have remained in posts and signatures for many days.

I don't think the board guidelines have changed - maybe the mods are just extra busy lately?

The OP has been removed, but I think I can make out what the thread was about. I reported a referral link in a signature days ago too. Nothing was done about it so I was starting to wonder if they were maybe now allowed? I noticed 1 of our mods is no longer listed as working on this board and the other seems to have been away for a month. Maybe a nice long vacation? Hope no illnesses.

I assumed some one is filling in in their absence however since points are being given out, but just not here all the time.

Membership is open to all and it is in the public domain for all to read. This is a BUSINESS! The owners make money by us visiting and reading the "sponsored" links. They make money from advertisements on this site and from the sponsors. If they just wanted it to be private and open to only specific people they can lock down a site the site to allow members only to READ and WRITE. The all mighty dollar will prevail.

They have the OPTION to take down spam and I am sure they appreciate the help of posters to notice all spam, but to shame the moderators (most of who do this only for the love of Mickey) is just mean of you.
