a guest in our party will turn 21 while we are at disney in august, i would like some suggestions to where to dine ? we are going to be on the dining plan but will consider all options .thanks for all your help.:thumbsup2( its a girl) if it makes a difference.

I am super excited for my b-day dinner at O'Hana (have you seen those drinks in a pineapple!) anyway that might be fun for a 21st, since they have all sorts of tropical drinks. we are also eating at California Grill, that would also be nice for a b-day celebration, more of an upscale atmosphere.

that sounds good , i would like some more input so please leave your thoughts...thank-you all

I would STRONGLY recommend the California Grill. First, location, location, location! You can't beat the view at night. Let the CM know when booking the reservation that there will be a birthday celebrated. The restaurant should do something special for that. Depending on what time you book your dinner, you could view the Wishes fireworks going off in the Magic Kingdom. That makes for a fantastic backdrop along with Cinderella's Castle.

Perhaps more importantly, the food is absolutely incredible. Everything from appetizers and entrees to deserts is perfectly sublime. The food is, in my opinion, the best on Disney property.

I plan to celebrate my birthday there in September! It's about the only thing I look forward to with regards to turning 42! :scared1:

Raglan Road would be a great choice....great music, great food, great drinks...

I went to Cali. Grill for dinner for my 21st! It was great... had a glass of wine for dinner and then for dessert, they had a great chocolate martini. The day after my birthday, I went to the Yak and Yeti for lunch and have to say, they have a great bev. menu too.

Is the birthday guest a big drinker/partier? Are you looking for a big drinking night? If so, I might go for Raglan Road-really fun atmosphere for a21st birthday celebration.

If the guest is lower key or your night is really just about going someplace special, I would definitely go for California Grill. It's a great choice for a special night out. You might consider getting a CG ADR either right before sunset (the view is supposed to be amazing during sunset!) or during Wishes (the restaurant pipes in the music & the fireworks view is amazing!

I'd say Ohana for the fun atmosphere and great selection of tropical drinks! Otherwise I'd say the Brown Derby in Hollywood Studios. It just feels really glamorous and you feel like a famous movie star!! I turned 21 and celebrated my birthday there last summer and loved it!

I think 'Ohana would be fun because of the tropical drinks. The first restaurant that came to mind, though, was Raglan Road. What better place than an Irish pub to celebrate a 21st birthday?

Ohana would be a good one & has lots of fun drinks on the menu.

Maybe this is why the entertainer is always talking about "21 year old boys"?

Other suggestions are good - but R&C has a great bar - eat there.

If she likes beer then R&C or Raglan Road or Biergarden - maybe ESPN

OK what the heck!? She kept saying that when we were there so my friend and I were like - "WHERE ARE THESE BOYS?!" LOL! What the heck was she talking about?

lots of good suggestions,wow...but it is more of a dinner celabration and 1st legal drink, but after dinner you have made some great suggestions too.

by the way, HAPPY EASTER ....

Happy Easter to you, too! To celebrate and have the first legal drink I'd definitely say Ohana. My dining review has some pictures of the delicious drinks in the Tambu Lounge where we waited before our Ohana dinner ADR. Lots of fruity, girly, umbrella drinks!!

She calls everyone "21 year old boys" whether the men in question are around the 21 age mark or 2 or 3 times older than that!

She always seems to find 21 year olds wherever she goes...she's just too funny! :lmao:
