21st Birthday Gift Ideas

We value travel over things and have raised a DD who feels the same. She just turned 18 but is already talking about the trip we will take to Vegas when she's 21.

I would suggest a Vegas trip and a piece of jewelry in the $100 range.

I was thinking of getting 21 separate gifts (one big thing and several small things) but I need some ideas!

I got my DD a pearl necklace. My mom passed away when she was 10yo. Her favorite piece of grandma's was a fake pearl necklace my mom wore at our wedding. Even 5 years later, DD wears the pearls for almost every special occasion. Sometimes she wears the Tiffany necklace we gave her for her 18th birthday.

Just saw that you need something more affordable than a trip so here's my affordable idea.

One of my DD's graduation gifts was a photobook from Snapfish. With discounts it cost around $20. That and the video DH made, which cost nothing, are the only things that moved our noncryer to tears. What made the book special was I asked people who had been important in her life to write her a letter, share a memory, offer advice, or a quote. I then paired each person's letter with pictures of fun times with DD and that person. It took time but ended up so special and meaningful.

You could shoot for 21 letters, if you want to stick with that number.

My dd name is Alexis, and there is a winery in CA that has wine called Alexis so that was one of the gifts we got her……she said she is saving it for a special occasion to open it

21 airplane sized bottles of liquor

A friend of mine daughter had some friends make her a Lai out of 21 litte fireball bottles. We did a bucket and made it look like a flower arrangement. Look on pinterest we did a lot of UV minis because they are colorful. And that was March and she still has most of her mini's.

I'd go with some type of alcohol theme give. Isn't the only reason 21 is a special birthday because it means you can now drink? The jewelry suggestions are fun but I don't see why 21 would need something sentimental. It seems like that is more of an 18th birthday thing.

You can get a nice pieve of jewelry for not a lot of money. Pandora, chamilia have leather bracelets and their charms start in the $25 range. Alex and Ani bracelets are inexpensive and then there is origami owl lockets.
If she's a drinker, an alcohol themed basket and a hangover one would be cute.

I have a nephew turning 21 next week. I won't be getting him alcohol. That's up to him. I don't think he, or any other 21 yo, needs to be encouraged to drink. just me. OP, how about beginning a collection of linens for her or getting her a tablet of some kind. you can find some decent tablets for $150 or less. Of course, you could spend $700. We got our son a GPS for his car for his birthday this year.
