21st August 2011, Disney Dream

Just to cover our bases, I booked Remy for that night. If we can book Palo Brunch when we board, we'll cancel our Remy reservations.

(can you imagine Palo brunch and Remy dinner on the same day??? I'd feel )
Yes both in one day would be food overload. I have not even looked at Remy, Palo brunch is more than enough for us on a new ship for only 4 nights.

We are also doing WDW for four days before the cruise. Anyone else doing any WDW days before?

Same as Karin for us, OKW before cruise but a little longer, 16 nights incl free DDP.

If anyone is around I have arranged a DISmeet at OKW for August 10th. Probably before most people arrive in the area but the offer is there if anyone would like to join us.

Haven't been on for awhile but just made final payment and the excitement is starting to build again. I was hoping to do Palo brunch but they were all booked up online so maybe I'll try when we get on the ship.

We don't have any excursions booked in Nassau. I have been toying with taking a taxi over to Atlantis but am not sure at this point what we will do.

We are arriving on Thursday and staying at All Star Movies. We are planning two park days and then off to the ship! Two days at a time is about all we can handle at a time. We don't call Sara Little Legs for nothing!

DS and I are doing three nights/two full days at WDW pre-cruises too...we have a few days of tickets left over to use from last time we were at WDW that dont expire. We are at POP Century...my fav. place.
still.... can't come soon enought!:yay:

I'm not sure if this will help anybody or not, but when I was on the disneycruise.com site just now it showed High Tea available for tables of 1 or 2.:)

We are staying at the Comfort Suites Maingate and planned on hitting some of the major attractions - NASA, Universal Studio (Harry Potter), Hollywood Studio before the cruise. Has anyone walked around in Nassau? This walking tour map looks interesting. Link is in the Title as I can't include it in the message.

Has anyone been to Junkanoo (West Esplande) Beach before?

We love pop too! We stayed there the last two times, so I thought we would try something else. I hope its as much fun!

We did all star music once and it was fine... ...I like the POP;s layout better and the rooms are a bit newer...but overall it was just fine. I especially like the giant rubics cube...ect... :wizard:

Tommorow booking opens for the second B2B leg....:woohoo:

We got Remy for Friday night. What about you?

(guess I should post this on the other meet but I haven't even read that one yet!)

Got mine too! for the first night (thursday night) :thumbsup2..... LOL ....Just posted on the other one too... I am so psyched!

We are staying at AKL.

We are staying at AKL the night before the cruise (fly in on the 20th). Then we are going back to CSR for 5 nights post cruise. Cannot wait for final payment for us on June 7th - then we can finally say we are definitely going (although flight package is non-refundable, so maybe I should be screaming it now!)

phew, been off the boards for a bit.

Looks like everyone is ready here, and so am I. Got a couple trips prior to get tuned up....I'll be visiting Barbados the end of June, then Newport RI for a week in July, then we will be checking in to Bay Lake on the 16th of August.. I was going to book some onboard "stuff", but decided this will be a barebones cruise...Just going to enjoy the family and ship and anyone that wants to chat...nothing but relaxing, no schedules (outside of the normal show times etc...) Was going to do a Cabana (they are awesome, trust me!) but I figure I will save some bucks and just chill at Serenity Bay with some umbrella drinks.

I have gotten two airfare reductions since I booked...so that means credits for more trips. Thank you Southwest Airlines! :)

I still have not booked the flights. Even SWA is very expensive from Greene.
What did you get for a price?

We also are going to BLT on the 16th. Just for 3 nights with the grandkids.

We also got the free tickets for KSC right after the cruise.Should be a very busy 2 weeks. Did the final payment this week so I guess it is happening,if we can get there......

I paid $119 each way, and even got a $109 price for a couple of us on the 11:45 am flight from greene on the 16th. They are showing $144 right now.

I made our FE for a few dollars, I took 3 small 6 inch or so canvas bags, added our names and Mickey heads and then strung them together with red ribbon. I love the traditional looking FE, but I did love mine more for the price! I can't sew so this was a great alternative for me.
Thanks for the tip, Kim. My friend is very crafty and she mentioned the same idea. It's nice to know it will work.

We'll be checking into BLT on Aug 16th also for some pre-cruise park hopping. We'll be taking the DME bus so I hope we don't have some of the delays and lines I've heard about. I'm hoping that, if something goes wrong with their transportation, they'll make sure the ship doesn't leave without us.

How is everyone booking excursions and dining so early? I thought I missed a date but the site says that we can't book until June 7. Is that a prior cruiser perk? Since we're first timer DCL cruisers, I guess our hope to have a meal at Palo will have to wait until a future trip.

Castaway Club members can book earlier. After this cruise you too will have that perk.

Hi there. I have never done the FE exchange before but have signed up for this cruise. At what point do we figure that most families who are coming have made up their minds, and count on that number for the exchange? A month or so before the cruise? What has your experience been like in the past?

Hey..just posted this on the other thread of my b2b so I thought I might put it here too ...

It has been my experience that it is the decision of the person managing the list to create the FE deadline ... Wayne? :)

Here is the rest of what I said about FE's on the other thread:

I recieved individual little presents (one for each person in the cabin) from some people and a "cabin" gift from others. I enjoyed each thing either way and I enjoyed giving...but like you, I think I overthought it when I was a Newb. Really no pressure... it all about the FUN Just do what your comfortable with and what makes you happy...it IS vacation.

There seemed (at least in my case) no schedule for delivery, whenever the person deemed it to be convenient, they delivered. I'd get new gifts in my FE late at night, midday and in the AM (fairly late sleeper myself). I did my deliveries at night , less people in the halls etc...:rolleyes1

Not sure if it helped but thought I'd try....Happy Memorial Day to all!

Happy Memorial Day!!
I just got online and did my online reservations and paperwork also!! We have the 11:00 onboard time though from the main boards I hear that time doesnt rally have much meaning!! Im just excited that part is done!!

We are doing the stingray excursion on CC, so we are excited about that!!

I agree we need to come up with a date when we will stop adding to the FE list that way we will have plenty of time to make it equal for all involved and not have to buy last minute gifts and stuff!!~~ Any comments on when we should stop?? hate to leave people out last minute since its a lot of fun to do and stuff, but I think it would only be fair~~

Maybe July 1st??

Anyhow, hope everyoneis dong wonderful!!!!!!

not long now my friends!!! WOO HOO!!

This will be out 6th Disney cruise so we are now Gold Castaway members, means we can book when there is still availability. As I posted previously if you want to do Palo book as soon as you board, they keep back plenty of reservations for boarding day.

Maybe July 1st??

July 1st sound a great date. Still gives another month for anyone to join but then plenty of time for us to finalize numbers.

I think to keep FE as informal as poss, we have done it in the past with lists and schedules etc which worked well on the 7 night cruises but for a short 4 nighter I think as simple as poss. Once we have final numbers I will put a list together for everyone to print, we can then drop off gifts anytime we like throughout the 4 days. Only changes after July 1st should be cabin upgrades/changes, easy to alter before the cruise but if on boarding day we will have to alter the list at the meet when we board.

Just got back from a weekend in London for Karen's Birthday, went to see Wicked which we really enjoyed. Spent yesterday going around the London underground Geocaching and sight seeing. Today we planned on spending the day at Warwick Castle but when we got up this morning it was really heavy rain, forcast not very good so we decided to head home. Could do with a weekend off now instead of work tomorrow:rotfl2:
