) If he starts back now, it will taste like CRAP and he will have to start all over again
A cigarette will not solve whatever is stressing him and the problem will not be solved with nicotine~after the cigarette...the problem will still be there~he can do this...and get through this!
If he starts back now, it will taste like CRAP
That isn't true for everyone. I have not smoked in over seven years, but I could pick it up again and be right back where I was. I LIKED smoking and if it wasn't a health concern and so expensive, I would still smoke.
I quickly went back to my pack and a half habit and it tasted "great" again. I'm with you though, I won't do the health risk or expense again....I'm saving this $ for Disney!I have quit over a year ago and there are still many many times I get stressed enough to want to smoke. Dh still smokes and I have even started to pick his up and smoke one; but manage to make myself walk away and take a walk away from the house. The act of taking a walk always seemed help me over the hump and be able to stay strong.
I now have a bottle of Xanax in my purse. On days that I feel particularly stressed or anxious (and wanting a cigarette); I take a Xanax. The doctor said I should have kept taking the Chantix for 3 months too; but its so expensive. The Xanax is a lot cheaper and helps a lot.
I quit cold turkey
I'm thinking I need to see my dr. for some emergency xanax!
(it has been really helpful for my fear of flying~once a year) I may not even need to take it, just knowing it is there
- Now he's been dipping for over a week, quit for 1.5 days then started dipping again. I hate it, but it's better than the 2nd and 3rd hand smoke us and the kids get.
Me too...I tried Chantix last summer and had some of the most bizarre dreams I've ever had in my life!I'm still smoking, again. And each time I've tried to stop since, it's been harder than the first time.
That is the ULTIMATE willpower!!!!I quit cold turkey

Actually, just knowing its there does help. I'm not tempted to stop and buy a pack on a day I know is going to be bad, cause I have my xanax.
It really helps with your fear of flying? I am terrified to fly and dd and dh want to fly the next time we go to Orlando. Maybe I will try it. I actually did think of taking it and seeing if it calms my fears a bit of some of the thrill rides (I am almost as afraid of disney roller coaster as I am flying!)
I love the roller coasters though~no xanax needed
(Of course I haven't done any roller coasters smoke free yet either lol)
Absolutely! I flew by myself to meet my Mom in Orlando last Sept.~I do better if I am flying with someone else, but the doctor prescribed a pill for the flight down and one for the flight back and I did really well:goodvibes I love the roller coasters though~no xanax needed(Of course I haven't done any roller coasters smoke free yet either lol)

I can attest to this. She was incredibly friendly and bubbly! No anxiety at all, that I could tell.![]()
Yup, I even approached (errrr accosted?) poor Cat at the ME line LOL!!! And I'm usually shy! Xanax makes me friendlier than usual!
