I decided to call my doctor this morning - in light of this whole flu thing

I guess you didn't read my other thread.. I'm not referring to the "swine flu" thing - although due to the circumstances of how they became sick they did have to have the swabs done and wait for the preliminary results before anyone was allowed in their home..

They have the "regular" flu - and because of "my" health issues (compromised immune system; respiratory problems; etc.) the doctor (DD and her DH go to the same one that I do) said they couldn't be around "me" until 7 days after the last person in their household was sick.. If I catch any type of flu or contagious virus, I'm in a boat load of trouble.. After hearing how bummed out they were today, I decided I would call the doctor myself to see if there was some way we could work around this so they wouldn't have to be bored to tears at home..

We thought it was smart to pass that info on to others who will be up here as well though as a common courtesy.. No point in others becoming sick and missing work/school if they can avoid it..

I did read your other thread and I said a prayer for your family to get better. I'm very glad it's not the swine flu. And very happy that everyone is doing good.
And I do understand your concern. On the swine flu thread everytime any of us were discussing taking precautions you said over and over for everyone not to panic. Just reminding you not to panic.

That's true! And I still stand by that.. Unfortunately I have to follow my doctors orders - and if I don't, my family will toss me out on my ear.. Then where will I live come winter when I have to go back there??

Just between you and me (don't tell my famliy) - given my druthers, I'd take the risk.. What the heck? I'm "old" anyhow..
