Enjoy the trip, Liz. Continued good wishes and prayers for Laura and all of you guys.

Update October 8th!
We're going to Florida! Laura's 24 hour monitor results were good and showed nothing unusual even though she had the chest pain three times while wearing it. They expected to get the lab results back today but they didn't come in so they told us to go to Florida and have fun and they'll call us while we're there with an update. Another great bit of news is she hasn't had the chest pain since Monday (and hopefully she's being honest about it - I think she is). Thank you for your prayers and helping us get through the latest challenge! I don't know if the chest pain is gone for good if they'll still do more extensive tests when we get home, we'll just have to see. Florida here we come!!!

Oh Liz, I know how you feel. DS had a bone tumor when he was 4. We chose to wait until after vacation to have it removed. We didn't tell him, so I had to worry with a brave face. It is so hard, but as a parent you do what you have to do - no matter how hard that is. I cried in the shower MANY times.
I don't know who said this, but it helped me a lot at the time...
Worry is like rocking in a rocking chair. You do a lot of work, but get nowhere.
Worry is not going to change anything, except make you feel worse. Please, please try your best to not think about it until you get back.
Having been there myself, I know how hard that is. But please try.
PM me if you need to talk.![]()
No matter how hard I tried to reason with myself that worrying wasn't doing any good I couldn't let it drop. That darn "worry" doesn't have a plane ticket and isn't invited to MNSSHP so he better stay out of sight!!!
Enjoy the trip, Liz. Continued good wishes and prayers for Laura and all of you guys.![]()
I'm so happy for you!!!!![]()
I'm so glad that you guys get to go on your trip!
I have an 11 year old that has a lot of issues and I really struggle with getting her to tell me what is going on sometimes. She just doesn't want to be sick, so sometimes she doesn't tell me when she is starting to feel the pain.
I hope you guys have a wonderful worry free vacation!!!!

I wanted to share our happy news!We had a great trip to Florida! The weather was beautiful, nobody got sick, Laura did really well. The doctor's office called us in Florida and said the new blood test they did in place of biopsies indicated there was a 99% chance she wasn't have any rejection!
Yesterday they did a lot more tests still trying to rule out her heart being the source of the chest pain (which unfortunately is still continuing). Every test they did yesterday was good! Pressures in the heart - fine! Coronary arteries - fine! Heart enzymes which had been rising dropped 100 points - GREAT NEWS! They attempted another biopsy and got some samples - no rejection! We had one scare which turned out to be nothing. The doctor said he was afraid he damaged a valve when trying to get biopsy pieces.
They later confirmed the valve was not damaged.

After that scare we definitely will not be pushing our luck with biopsies any more. Just wanted to share our happy news! They want to do one more test (cardiac MRI) and if that's fine they said to not worry about the chest pain and whatever is causing it its not her heart.
Here are two pictures that I particularly like from our trip that I wanted to share! Thank you, dear friends, for all your love and support!
