Hi everyone,

I have been off the boards for a while as we were not planning any trips to WDW due to the fact that I started working part-tim and we just did not have the money. My sanity is worth more to me than a trip to disney - but not too much!!! Well, the other day my DH asked if I would like to go to WDW for our 20th wedding anniversary, which is August 31 of this year. Of course I said YES!

My problem is that I do not know where to stay, I would like to try something new. The resorts we have stayed at in the past are:

Port Orleans
Carribean Beach
Wilderness Lodge
Contemporary
Poly
All Star Sports
and off site twice (will not make that mistake again!!)

I do not want to stay at the value resorts, but anything else would be fine. We will be going 2nd week in August (both of our birthdays are during this week) and will be taking our son who will be 15 and daughter who will be 11 with us. I know we should probably go alone to celebrate, but I just cant leave them at home knowing they love WDW as much as I do and I would spend most of my time saying "I wish they were here!".

What resort do you guys like (besides the ones I listed above). I do not think my DH would be that confortable at GF and the cost would probably be to high as well. I still need to be budget minded and not drain the bank  !! Also, I know that there are some companies that do surprises for certain occasions has anybody used them for an anniversary? If so, what kinds of things do they do?

Thanks for the help!!! :flower:

I would suggest the Yacht Club. The location is excellent and the pool is the best on property. There are several excellent restaurants in the Epcot area and the Boardwalk is fun at night. :)

I agree, Boardwalk is awesome at Night. Put the kids to bed after the parks one night then go to JellyRolls at the Boardwalk. It's an incredible sing-a-long, dueling piano bar. Tell them you are celebrating an anniversary, and they might put you up on stage for some fun!

For our 20th anniversary trip we split our stay betwee the YC and AKL. They were both awesome!

Maybe not the most extravagant, however, we love the fort wilderness campground. They have lovely cabins. We take our RV, but the kids love to set up their tent and camp. Very much a family adventure. There are alot of activities in the park. Try it, you might like it.

I would agree to the YC due to the pool and the walking distance to Epcot. The AKL is also very nice and we have gotten great AP discounts on the past two trips we have made. One in June and one in Dec. Both were about $121 per night. Booked pool view rooms twice but got upgraded to savanna view once.

Have a great time.
