Hello! I am considering buying resale dvc for my family. We would have 100% bought at BWV but the 2042 end date is just too short for what we want our membership to be. we have young kids and want to be able to take their kids too someday.

We started to consider OKW (a 2057 only) as we could see ourselves staying in large units with friends and family.

My question is- are 1-2 bedroom villas near hospitality house hard to book if you own? Are they hard to book if you DONT own there? I know studios are readily available but as my two sons get older, I see one bedrooms being our primarily goal.

Our other thought is AKL. I know SSR is financially the better deal but really would not want to stay there if we had to.

During booking priority time 11 months not a problem other than the grand villa for OKW near hospitality house. Of only 8 buildings in near hospitality house, there are only two grand villas. At the 7 months might still find some near hospitality villas but wouldn’t count on it.

1 and 2 bedroom units are frequently available at 7 months - especially outside of the most popular booking times.

As to an 11-month-out problem, the only rooms that have it at OKW are the Hospitality House area GV's, for which there are only two, and they book full right at 8 a.m. 11-months out about 80% of the year. Everything else is easy to get at 11-months-out except rarely when there is some event that causes an issue; example: for Sep 29 through Oct 1, 2021, all Hospitality House rooms disappeared right at 11-months out -- Oct 1, 2021 was the start of the WDW 50th anniversary celebration.

During the high demand fall season, late Sep to marathon weekend in Jan, the HH rooms typically book full before 7-months out, and do so during the rest of the year about half the time.

The HH question has been well answered but I will say on AKV, it’s a wonderful resort, and I think would be worth the premium to OKW, except that it’s very easy to book at at 7 months, and, except for perhaps the first 2 weeks of December, your OKW points will always be able to get you a studio, 1BR, or 2BR at AKV; you’ll even virtually always have your choice of Savannah or Standard view. But if you pick AKV, your AKV points will rarely be able to secure you a “Near HH” room at OKW at 7 months, except maybe in the hottest part of the summer.

So you’ll have more flexibility to stay at either resort if you buy OKW 2057 points.

Thanks. We are on the hunt for a good 2057 contract resale!
