I don't think that camera has a zoom lens - if it says "digital zoom" that is not the same thing. If all you want it for is posting pictures on eBay it should be fine.

Can anyone tell me the difference between a regular zoom lens and a 2X digital zoom?

Obviously I don't know much about digital cameras...

Digital Zooms are the camera's software guessing about how to fill in the spaces when you zoom in.

An optical zoom is done the same as a regular camera - it actualy zooms in and when you take the pictuer, each pixel will be from the image, not the camera's guess as to what the pixel should look like on the digital zoom.

Again, if you're only going to be putting the pictures on teh web (posting for EBay), you'll probably be fine with the digital zoom.

Optical zoom is the one you need to look at. Digital zoom really is the same thing zooming in on the picture when you look at it on the computer. Optical zoom will actually take the picture with a adjustable lens while digital zoom just uses the same lens and then digitizes it and zooms in on the picture not the item you are taking a picture of. Digital zoom picture are usually of lesser quality. Understand? Heres a example. Let say you want to see the surface of the moon. You go outside and take a picture of the moon then take it to your computer and make the picture big enough you can see the surface. You won't be able to see anything because it is so pixeled. Now if you took a telescope looked at the surface moon then took a picture through the telescope that would be like optical zoom! That's the best way!! Digital zoom to me is just a marketing thing to get people to think they are getting something good. I think you would get a better picture by taking it normal they zooming in with your computer rather than use the digital zoom. Hope this helps
