2026 Strength Training Accountability Thread

I didn't have any equipment at my disposal today so I did an intro to mobility workout on Fitness Blender, and then two of my favorite 80's-tastic videos I have mentioned before on the boards: 8 minute abs and 8 minute buns! The Reeboks on the woman in these videos really take me back :)

I remember getting white Reeboks with the really soft-looking marshmallow-like leather. I must have been in 5th or 6th grade, which would have been mid-80s. It was definitely the "cool" thing to have with all the other kids. The big thing was to keep them as clean as possible so that would still be that extra-white color and not look "used". To be fair to Reebok, they must not have been outrageously expensive, because if they were, there is no way my parents would have bought them for me - we were not allowed to get clothes just because they were trendy, and definitely not over-priced clothes. (I'm thinking something like the $1000 Air Jordans.)

Good week overall. Closed out with 20 minutes of my strenght A workout yesterday and then got my 20 minutes of PT ankle mobility done today before my run. Feel like I am finally starting to trun the corner on geting past these injuries and was the first time in awhile I got all 3 planned strength (non-PT) workouts done in a week. So I would say this thrwad is working!

Great to hear it feels like you’re turning the corner! Looking forward to seeing you in the marathon next year!

And this thread is working for me too - I’ve got at least a couple of workouts I might have skipped otherwise. Nothing like peer pressure 😂

That's why I keep up with my training journal. 😄

Did a OTF Strength class this morning - total body for 50 minutes. My abs have a long way to go after my surgery, and it’s hard to tell if it is my abs just being weak or if the pain is - ‘don’t push me, I don’t want a hernia.’
I did what I could - it was leg raises that really got to me. I couldn’t lower my legs very far. So - slowly getting back to where I was.

I can see I'll be a slackard on this thread. Oh well. Anyway, does paddling on Davy Crockett's explorer canoes count as an upper body workout? I'm saying yes. (And now back to a glorious sunny 80⁰ + day.)
It sure would make my arms tired! I pickaxed and shoveled some very hardened snow from last weekend, and then helped my son move into his new apartment: a 4th floor walkup, no elevator. This definitely felt like strength training!

My PT gave me two sets of exercises -- one for home/office and one for the gym. I started the home/office set this weekend because it was so cold. And I think they are helping with the pain and tightness already. I hope to do this set every day except for the two days I do the gym set.
