2026 MMB info Announced

The more I read about MMB, the less I know how to use it.

Another question. I have a single membership, October UY, two owners (me and wife). Planning to buy 2026 MMB and buy the 24 BOGO OTUPs for use during my 2025 UY (which begins October 2025 and ends September 2026). Let's say I also want to buy 24 OTUPs for use during my 2026 UY. Could I have my wife purchase 2026 MMB and take advantage of the BOGO on her MMB, but for the 2026 UY?

Basically, can 2 people on the same membership each buy MMB in the same calendar year and then both take advantage of the BOGO OTUPs as long as they buy them for different UYs? I have been thinking the answer to this is yes.

Based on what @Sandisw has shared from the board meeting, yes.

MMB is attached to the member, not the membership. You just need to be eligible for membership extras to purchase it.

Resale members are entitled to 24 OTUP and they carry no restriction. You as a member can decide you want to use your benefit on that membership.

@Sandisw please correct me if I am wrong and misinterpreting what you were told at the board meeting.

Based on my understanding I would say yes as well since the MMB calendar year isn't tied to UY in any way.

When I said double dip I meant some people purchased the 2025 calendar year MMB for one member and then purchased 12 OTUP with 12 free in their 2024 UY and their 2025 UY. I feel like this was a mistake and slipped through the cracks.

That's exactly what I did on accident. I called in to ask if it was possible to get more BOGO points (already bought 2024 points for December UY, was calling about 2025 UY), they researched it, and came back and said yes let's do it. I now know they were wrong but I'm glad it worked!

Yes, I remember discussing this with you in another thread. I believe you even mentioned you asked the CM if it was allowed and they put you on hold to check.

I understand how it was working, I'm saying that's OBVIOUSLY not the spirit of how the program was supposed to work.

Well, you can use other membership perks when staying on a reservation booked with resale points or a non qualified membership as long as you are an eligible member.

Moonlight Magic, member lounges, DVC previews, etc.

So, this would be no different. My guess is that if they had pursued it further, it would have been allowed.

As I said, I asked this specifically and was told that as long as the owners has MMB and has a membership that hasn’t used its OTU points allotment, then each owner could purchase and get the BOGO free pricing

Every owner can buy it but they don’t need to unless you want a second memory maker, ability for each owner to visit the lounges with the priority access without having the other there, or, in some cases, get two sets of discounted OTU points.

That’s why getting two sets of OTU points at a discount would work in limited circumstances.

Two memberships is one of them. I bought MMB, and used with my June UY membership.

My DH or any of my adult kids could also buy it and use it for discounted OTU points for our Aug UY membership.

That is exactly how it was explained to me. As long as the person buying them has MMB, and that membership has not bought its OTU points for the UY of the trip they want, then they are eligible for the discounted price.
