However, this answer doesn't take into consideration that these are a) the pace group is being led by two humans - not machines - who are leading another large group of other humans, each of which has a different run pace and walk pace that feels comfortable and b) there are going to be things on the course (narrow areas, crowding, etc.) that will impact how fast the pacers are going at any given time. If there are known issues (i.e. International Squeeze-way between Epcot and HS or on the path between the Grand Floridian and the MK), the pacers may have a plan for how to tweak speeds to stay on pace. But sometimes the pacers are recalculating on the fly based on conditions so it is almost impossible to say what is the "average pace" is going to be on race day.
I was on a Zoom call with Chris Twiggs last night (head of the pace team for runDisney) and he was telling us that he recently did an 11 mile run - one mile at each of the different paces (and intervals) that the pace teams are going to run at Disney - to see what his average run pace was. But it would be fascinating to have several different pacers do this and see how (if?) it differs.
