Doing "meals" is a fun idea. Lady and The Tramp is obvious for dinner, and the Fairies for dessert also makes sense. But I cannot understand what the heck Mulan and Olaf have to do with breakfast and lunch, respectively

I was cheekily refreshing the key art so I’m only now getting the meals thing from here

Mulan is bacon/eggs
Olaf is a picnic lunch

Another Mulan 5k?! Back to back with Princess is a bit much. Olaf is fun, though, and I am here for the cake, obviously.

Of the 6 race weekends in 2025 there were two groot AND two Mulan 5ks

I believe princess and wine & dine in 2023 had beauty & the beast 10ks

With so many IPs I hate hate how redundant themes can be

Also if I had a nickel for everytime the theme of a wine & dine 10k anniversary year was Olaf I’d have two nickels

It is weird to have two Mulan 5Ks in one year though.

Two groot 5ks as well (DL & SS)

Also the 5th and 10th W&D 10k anniversary were both Olaf themed

yeah something about the art seems off to me, just seems like a step down in quality. I think them using different fonts for each of the races is throwing me off a bit.

I was scrolling on FB and saw the themes and thought it was a parody or something at first and then I realized I was looking at the official Disney page. The quality seems so bad! I am tempted for the half marathon but I think i'll stick to my original plan and go with Springtime Surprise '26.

They can be good! The DL Halloween artwork is great, if they weren't doing that weekend they could have easily shifted that theming to this one. Honestly, I don't have problems with the theming of any of the other weekends this year. W&D feels like it's lacked an identity since the COVID return though. One year it's villains, another year there doesn't seem to be any cohesiveness in the theme or character choice (but there was Figment). The next year, shifting back focus to the theme of Wine and Dine, I like what they did with the artwork (and there was Swedish Chef). This time... yeah, the font is annoying me and I'm just not enthusiastic about the artwork. Lady and the Tramp is a cute theme for the half but otherwise the character choices don't grab me.

BTW, hasn't been mentioned here yet: POT by May 1. As per usual, not ideal if you want to plan for new POTs but at this point everyone should be planning further ahead of the new deadlines.

I think it comes from:

1) the source films / projects have different art styles, and the art used in the designs are consistent with those,
2) those art styles clash somewhat
3) previous years had subtle changes to the look of the characters to make the art style consistent across the various events
4) notwithstanding the crashing art styles, they used color palettes that favor one another, but are color palettes that don’t feel organic to the films.

Further rationalizing... we actually don't check out until 10K day and we haven't bought our flights yet. I have most of the costume already from the Everest 5K, when I went as Disco Yeti. Considering the theme and that mayyyybe a ton of people won't think of it and duplicate it, I COULD have a decent shot to make the rD social media channels.

I have a lot of very sus reasons for signing up, but those aren't them.

Fair enough. But the length to which we will go to justify signing up for a race is pretty darn similar, in the BEST way!
