In small print, it says registration opens August 19 at 10am eastern.

I don't love the artwork either. I don't have any strong feelings about the muppets (I think it's either that I'm slightly off generationally, or it's just that I wasn't raised watching anything muppets) but I think this might get a lot of people to bite.

I'm assuming they're like the ones you can get at the expo on race weekends.


But with a clip for a ribbon to wear it like a medal.

Last year's were like ear hats iirc. They're trying really hard to do the "doubles as an ornament" idea for the Christmas virtual, and I'm not sure they've figured it out yet.

My first thought was that they'd be more medal-like than what they currently sell. I think they do medal reveals for these before sales start, or at least that's what happened with the summer series, so hopefully that continues.

I was excited to see this but TWO HUNDRED AND SIXTY SEVEN AMERICAN DOLLARS for a virtual race??? And a beanie and tea? I don't think I can convince myself and I am a Muppet lover. Maybe that's how much this always was and I just wasn't paying attention but wow.

I had the same reaction. I don't remember them being this much but I haven't done the Christmas one since the first year.

IIRC when they had to cancel races for COVID they were offering way more generous deals on these, and I think when they started to bring back races and do virtual options in parallel they were still pretty solid value. At some point though they raised the prices significantly and found that enough people were still paying. And here we are!
