2023 DVC Dues:

Wouldnt the Staff and cleaning cost increase be the same across every resort ? Why would it cost more at the Beach club to clean a room than any other resort ?
Small rooms are faster/easier to clean than large rooms... studios to three bedroom villa sizes vary from resort to resort. Also, if the balance of those different rooms vary from resort to resort (which I think they do), then that adds to the difference as well. Just my speculation.

So if dues are going up 5 ish percent….. Does anyone thing rental rate will climb to cover that…

RCID

I read somewhere that the state and Disney were well on the way to clearing that tragedy up, so that busy can go on as usual.

I also read that Iger doesn’t want to see Disney tarnished public anymore by the past (paraphrasing because I can’t find the press release)

but in either case both side should walk away from the RC table happy….

Rental rates already vary depending on the source. No, I don't expect some across-the-board increase of 5%.

Get back to me when it's actually settled. There are still a lot of different ways it could go. The governor's political ambitions make it unlikely that he simply reverses course and says "oops, my bad."

IMHO

Disney gave him what he wanted of Nov 20th….

and 5 percent of 20 dollars is only a dollar….. you don’t see a dollar increase in points rental?

Rental market is more dictated by comparable cost of a hotel room and competition among renters. Heck rental prices could drop some in 2023 with the “coming recession”

Valid points….
For a random week in may next year, AoA was over 550 a night and the least expensive room was POR at 360…..

With some DVC studios in the 1100 1200 a night range….

Disney can change the cash price quickly, if need be but it doesn’t look like they think a recession is coming….

it will be interesting to see what happens …..

I might just have to take extra vacations next year

I looked at some questionable timeshare resorts in my area. The weekly MF are more than the cash rate for the week. No wonder the owners are so unhappy.

I have no issue with WDW fees as long as they are well below cash rates.

I recently returned for a stay at Riviera. It was 350 points give or take …. Would have rented the points for 7k…..

The cash rate for the same room the same nights would have 17,000 plus …..

If I had rented At 7k I would have more than covered my dues and paid a a good piece of the purchase price….

Win win by my math rent or use. I’m happy….
Happier using though

I think the term legally may be fluid with Disney.

It's difficult for them when it comes to DVC. Some of the DVC members are well versed in timeshare law, and watch everything Disney does like hawks, even if Florida doesn't (and they do). Disney is under such a fine microscope - especially when it comes to DVC - that it's difficult for them to get away with much.
