2021 Reservations

I was able to reserve a room only reservation a few weeks ago through Dreams, however when I called Disney today to book a separate reservation directly they said they are no longer booking any new resort only reservations. Just checking to see if any others have had the same response. The CM said that they may not be accepting any new 2021 reservations until the end of this year???

Reopening With a New Park Reservation System


Magic Kingdom park and Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park will begin a phased reopening on July 11—with Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios reopening on July 15.

The parks will reopen with some important updates to promote physical distancing, including:

• Park Reservations: Initially, park attendance will be managed through a new park reservation system. To enter a park, both a park reservation and valid admission for the same park on the same date are required.
• New Ticket Sales: At this time, new ticket sales are temporarily paused. Existing ticket holders and Annual Passholders will be able to make reservation requests in phases before new tickets are sold. Additional details will be shared with these Guests soon. New ticket sales will resume after that period of time.
• New Disney Resort Hotel Reservations: At this time, new reservations at Disney Resort hotels are temporarily paused so we can focus on Guests with existing reservations (Disney Vacation Club Members can still make new reservations). Reservations will resume after that period of time.

I think you will be able to reserve before end of year. I'm sure they want to be able to see how numbers shape up for next year before long!

I called yesterday and was told the same thing. I wanted to book a resort for October 2021 (499 days out) but couldn't right now. I was hoping to secure a room only for just after the 50th anniversary in early October.

For the moment, ALL new reservations no matter how far in the future are on hold. Once they reopen, and see how things go, they plan to restart reservations and ticket sales. We just don't have a date for when that will begin yet.

I really don't think the folks on the reservation line know anymore than we do.

My travel agent was able to get me a split stay over the 50th about two weeks ago, not sure if the agents have better luck or if we just managed to sneak in before they shut down new reservations

Hopefully they open it up soon. The planning part helps us all past the time. Very antsy...Head is saying don’t go this year, but our hearts are saying live on the edge.

You got in before they shut down new reservations. Prior to shutting reservations down, you could still book 499 days in advance. At this point in time, no new reservations are being taken at all and those who are able to modify, can only modify up to December 31, 2021.
