2020 Thanksgiving Meals?

Hi, has anyone seen anything yet about any of the resorts having Thanksgiving dinner options for this year (2020)? If no, do you know when they may start to announce such plans?

Liberty Tree Tavern is a great restaurant to get your Thanksgiving dinner fix in if you can't find anything else.

Even pre-COVID, they have been painfully slow in rolling out Thanksgiving meal options - often just a couple weeks prior long after reservations opened. You can search older blog posts and such for what restaurants offered things in the past but if I recall, nearly all resort restaurants offered a turkey meal option alongside their own offerings. I would expect the same this year.

Thinking back on ones that didn't have anything turkey... 'Ohana did not, Hoop De Doo did not, and Whispering Canyon offered only a Thanksgiving skillet, not their regular menu, so we actually ended up canceling that reservation.

Yep, Disney releases closer to Thanksgiving. Expect changes this year, but one would think some of the core restaurants of past will remain aligned to some level of traditional Thanksgiving offerings like Liberty Tree. I would enroll in any alerts that are offered regarding Disney Thanksgiving announcements. Epcot usually has a set of restaurants providing some version and normally each Deluxe TS will have something aligned to the holiday with some type off special offerings...not sure that always means turkey. Maybe someone will have more past experiences with Thanksgiving offerings of past which may have lesser value this year due to how their operating under the pandemic, but nothing official yet. We all wish they would better align their time/event information to their planning time windows (i.e., ADRs, reservations, etc.)

Grab an ADR at Liberty Tree Tavern. If better options present themselves, then book the better option (and cancel LTT).

Last year I believe the Thanksgiving menus were released a few days before Halloween. We loved Whispering Canyon Cafe last year. This year we are trying The Wave which usually has a Thanksgiving offering.

We have an ADR at LTT for the Sunday after Thanksgiving as we are at USO for Thanksgiving. Deciding if we want to try to grab a Thanksgiving type meal there as well or just wait until we get to LTT.

It’s a good article, but states “Most of these restaurants have not released a special menu or other special offering for Thanksgiving, but their menu and setting would make for a great Thanksgiving meal.” Hopefully the Thanksgiving menu’s will be out by the end of this month! (Although I’m the only one who ends up eating Filet instead of turkey!!!)

We’re avoiding indoor dining so I’m planning to try to make Thanksgiving dinner in our trailer at Ft Wilderness. It’s going to be interesting.

They released Thanksgiving and holiday a few days before Halloween last year.

I just got a reservation at WCC for Thanksgiving day (thank you Touring Plans) and it actually states "Whispering Canyon Café Thanksgiving Lunch" where as both The Plaza and Grand Flo do not say that. I had booked those because in the past they have had some sort of Thanksgiving meal.

The Yacht Club used to do a Thanksgiving meal in their convention center. Has anyone done that in the last few years?

I would place my money on Oct 29th for Disney to release Thanksgiving menues.

Chef Art's announced that they will have a Thanksgiving menu. They say stay tuned in the coming weeks as they announce what is on the menu. I see this as another indication to look out for additional menus' to be announced as soon as the end of next week.
