I jumped from a 10K to the Challenge plus 5K. One thing I wish I had known more about was hydration and nutrition. I didn’t have enough fuel or water/Powerade during my first half in 2017. I now know that I need to carry my own water/Powerade because the course water stops aren’t enough for me. I sweat a lot when I run. It’s gross. I also need to eat something about every 3-4 miles. Everyone is different so what I do won’t necessarily work for you.I just ran the 2018 5k and 10k. My best friend and I are considering signing up for the 2019 half marathon.
Still weighing the pros and cons. It’s a big jump from a 10k to a half marathon. What do you wish you knew before your first?
