I’m betting it’ll happen again - they need to wait until spring though to see what dates they have lower occupancy so they know when they want to try and boost attendance

Here's hoping! And... here's hoping tons of people don't book ahead to what they "think" will be free dining dates, and thereby prompts Disney to NOT offer it since- "hey! We're pretty booked ahead so we don't have to offer that one this year!... or we can offer a scaled down version of it!".... I've never understood why people who want free dining promo book ahead and potentially ruin the chances of even getting the promotion offered.

I agree with this, however, these are the dates we are going regardless of free dining because my daughter has never been able to go during this time due to school. But I have seen people on here saying they have more than one reservation during free dining in hopes to modify. That could cause some issues I would think.

I hear ya! I do see what you mean- if you are sure you're going regardless, and want a specific resort for sure, then I can see why you'd want to book. I agree with you about the multiple reservations being held etc. I definitely don't think the multiple reservations being held thing makes sense. If they have 1 because they are going regardless and need that date/resort- makes more sense. But holding multiple- definitely can't see the advantage because it's just as easy to book a new one once free dining drops than to modify if you have it ready to go on the website. It doesn't save them any time vs if they had their choices ready and hit submit once it drops. I do think these type practices are maybe not the WHOLE reason availability is increasingly limited- but likely play a part.

So...... I called around 10:30 to purchase our MNSSHP tickets and as I always do, I asked if there were any promotions that could possibly save me money. I always ask when I'm on the phone with Disney. I booked Free dining Bounce Back when we checked out last September for this coming September so I was looking more or less for any room discounts just incase. The CM said "Be glad you took advantage of the Bounce Back" I said really? She then told me that IF free dining was going to be offered this year it will most likely be very limited to fewer rooms and dates. Just a heads up.

A free dining package was released for limited respectability summer. However, the free dining only applies to children ages 3-9. Adults still have to pay.

I would guess that based on the lack of reservations I've been finding for September that some people are counting on free dining. Maybe if it doesn't happen more reservations will become available. I'm staying offsite and trying to book day by day. Slim pickings.

It's out there but you only get the quick service with moderate and value. Not as good as the past. Disappointing. At least you get the park hopper.

Are you talking about free dining for this year? 2019? That was already released last month for july-sept and Feb 10th was the last day to book

Usually they do an early release through summer, and then in the spring release to the end of the year... hoping they still are going to do that even though it seems like a lot of people don't think it will happen.

For the past several years they’ve released summer and winter FD at the same time in the spring. Years ago, it was separate. I think summer dates were released in the spring, but fall/winter dates for FD were released in the summer.

I think there’s a possibility of December free dining. it could happen. Time will tell.
