I am debating about 2 options and I am trying to figure out the best deal for my money

Transatlantic: Category 09C for 2 adults is 4307.14

Panama Canal: Category 05C for 2 adults is 6026.32

Different room types, different everything.

I honestly look at these prices and wander will they lower, are these bad deals to book on Day 1. I never have booked on Day 1 and lets be honest I am cautious and always adjust my vacations to match better rates.

Is this really a deal or ???

I know very vague, but there are some folks on here that know the reality of Disney Cruises and rates and I am finally a Gold member now, only sailed 5 times and all 5 times have been based on deals.

Thanks!!!!

Prices do not go "down". As space onboard the ship fills, the prices only increase.

On cruises that DCL deems to be not selling well, they may offer last minute restricted rates, but they are typically still higher than opening day prices. And they won't be offered until after the Paid in Full date. You also have no choice as to specific rooms, you can only select a type of room.

you might want to consider airfare when comparing?

My prefrence would be the PC cruise. I would like to take a TA cruise, but I would want to couple that with a European trip. I think a PC cruise could stand on its own.

Don't forget TA plane flights. Flying over the big blue can some times be just as pricey as the cruise itself!

One way flights to Europe can definitely be expensive, but sometimes people can find good rates or have frequent flier miles. It's definitely a consideration (I'm flying to Europe twice this year so I feel the pain!).

I vote for Panama canal, because that is the one we booked today! :) I did not believe the whole "book on opening day" thing either. When we started cruising with DCL in 2010 the economy was not as good, and we got a great deal last minute to the Med. Our next 2 cruises, we were able to get good deals not booking on opening day, by being flexible with our dates. 2012 was our first year booking opening day for a summer 2013 cruise. We ended up saving over $1000. Our New Year 2014 was the same story. We now book all of our cruises opening day, and have never regretted it. This summers Iceland and Norway cruise stayed pretty flat, but we do not regret booking it opening day and being able to choose our specific room and get main dining. Either of these cruises would be wonderful. Depending on your employment/vacation situation, they each lend themselves to a larger vacation. Either time somewhere in Europe, or you could hit WDW before and Disneyland after the Panama Canal cruise. Enjoy whatever cruise you choose!

Last year, the TA prices nearly doubled after about 2 weeks and never went down. You can get cheap flights out of Europe, but you have to check a bunch of airlines and book early. It is a matter of what you want to see. If you want the TA, I would book fast. As people see the prices of other cruises, they will find the bargains and quickly drive those prices up too.

To be fair this years TA is almost double the price of the 2015 ones. That said its a fun cruise but as others mentioned its the flights that might sway things for you. I would try pricing up a flight to see how much extra it would add on.
