2017 Eastern Carribean Cruise - April 2017 or Sept/Oct 2017

Looking at booking our second DCL cruise with my sisters family - 4 adults and 6 kids from 5 to 10 years of age (all girls). Our last trip we did in April and completed the Western Carribean on The Fantasy. We are looking at bookign again on the same ship but the Eastern side.

What would people recommend as far as cruising time? April or in Sept/Oct? Weather wise April was great last time. Not sure what the weather is like Sept/Oct time for the eastern side of the Carribean. Travelling from Melbourne Australia so hoping to get the weather right. We will also be doing 1 week at WDW before the cruise so we dont want it to be too hot for the kids and at the same time we dont want our time spoiled by rain.

Any recommendations would be great if you have completed cruising at these times of the year.

We've made multiple cruises in April and October, on both eastern and western, and had one day of bad weather in October, so we like both months. However, I'd recommend late April, mainly for the better chance of good weather.

We are lucky in NH as our kids have the last week of April off every year from school. This is definitely one of the best months to travel to Florida and to cruise. It is still warm to hot, humidity may not be too bad, and it is usually dry. We did the Eastern cruise this past April and will be repeating the Eastern cruise in 2017, although the ports are all different! i would vote for April.

Thank you for that - looks like I am sticking to April. We thought it might be a good idea if we cruised another time frame of the year - we havent been to the USA in Sept/Oct time - we always visit the earlier months of the year.

April 2017 is already up on the DCL website - looking at the the last one in April 2017 - are these the port that you visited on your last cruise and if so what are your thoughts/advise. We luved the Western Carribean cruise we did and we did so many activities at the different ports.

The April 22 cruise is the one we are doing next year and the ports are all different from the eastern we did in 2015...Although we enjoyed the ports from last April enough we would have repeated them. so i don't have anything to add regarding these ports, but have read some good reviews of them so far. we really cruise for the ship and relaxing at this point which is easier to do once you have been on the same ship a few times! each cruise gets more and more relaxing!
