2017 DDP question

I rented DVC points for a Jan/Feb 2017 stay, pretty sure that i want to purchase DDP (i know that agency that i rented the points trhough can facilitate that). Do i have to wait until 2017 prices to come out? Are dining plans purchased through DVC the same price as ones purchased normally?

Following.... We are renting points at BWV in Feb and are wondering the same thing.

You can buy it now or later, but at least 48 hrs before check in if you're doing DVC. DDP prices already went up, and probably won't rise again before Jan/Feb (but they could). I believe DVC gets a locked in rate, but don't know if that is calendar year or not.

In case you don't know, QS meals will no longer include dessert in 2017. You will get entree and drink only. You do get two snacks per night with both QSDP and DDP. Prices are QSDP $46.34/20.18 and DDP 67.33/24.22 and DxDDP 103.57/37.62

The dining plan prices aren't set for DVC yet, at least not online. Since you're renting points, the member has to add the plan. They might be able to call and add it, but I imagine your broker will make you wait until they can do it online.

I just rented points for a Feb trip, and was told that we could not purchase the 2017 plan since the prices hadn't come out yet. She said they would come out shortly.

Yes and no. Or, no and yes.

DVC locks in the price for the year, so the dining plan will be the same price. But if the dining plan price increases, DVC still gets the original price. So, late in the year, DVC pricing may be cheaper.

This made me go, "hmmm." So, why can't DVC book the DDP yet? We had a price increase with the changes for 2017 when packages came out. Could there be another price increase to take effect in January??

I've heard that DVC can book the dining plan over the phone. The prices just haven't been loaded to the online site yet.

I was just in DVC account, and 2017 prices and brochures are there now.

Did anyone ever figure out why DxDDP went down in price for 2017?

I have a Feb/Mar trip booked, we are renting DVC points. I couldn't add the dining plan until Disney had released the prices for 2017, which they did in early July (if I remember correctly). It didn't matter that the prices weren't on David's site, I called and gave them my gift cards numbers and they got it booked as of July 20. Hope that helps!
