I'm ready to see rates, but I'm starting to think about holding out till fall to book, to see what Feb discounts come out. I know I could go ahead and book and make changes later, but I'd rather just book online and do it once. We'll see how patient I can be.

Oh yeah, definitely. I am going in September but unsure whether I should even bother waiting for free dining. (I'm not one for a sitdown meal and neither are my kids...they are go go go at Disney.) I am also still undecided whether to book myself or use a travel agent.

Sometimes the February and March discounts don't come out until October.

Mousesavers has a good list of historical discounts. Checked back through my email with my TA for last year's trip and we received a room discount on July 20th for our December trip.

Yup you should be able to...once Disney releases rates they release them for the whole year.

I saw June 21 mentioned on the Disney site last week (buried almost in the fine print) and wondered how accurate it would be. Looks like it's the day. I bit the bullet and went ahead and booked one of our 2017 trips though - I'll upgrade to the package, but it felt like it was taking so long for the dates to be released, I'm relieved to have the resort locked in.

I found it in the WDW FAQs today as well. Guess I'll go ahead tonight and get my room registration done. First Disney trip in nearly 30 years!!!

Registration = booking; sorry. Been to too many conventions over the years.
