So let's talk cranberry sauce.. Which do you prefer? Whole or jellied?

i prefer the type that the honey baked ham company sells in northern california but since they don't see it up here i have to throw together a mock version of it-whole cranberries with white rehydrated raisins and slivered almonds.

Gotta have three kinds here: canned, both the jellied and the whole berries, and a homemade cranberry/orange relish (with a lot of sugar!).

HOLIDAY CRANBERRY SALAD
12 oz bag of raw cranberries
2 oranges (I use 2 small cans of mandarin oranges...Easier!!!)
6 - 8 oz large jello (any red kind)
1 cup of sugar
1 - 2 apples, peeled, cored and cut in small pieces
1/2 walnuts, crushed (optional)

In a blender, grate the cranberries in stages. Then add the oranges. Put in a bowl and stir in the sugar.
Put jello in a med - large bowl and add 2 cups boiling water and mix well. Then add the cran orange mixture and mix well.
Add apples, stir and then add walnuts. Let set at least an hour...Can be made the day berfore.

Jellied...I still haven't gotten over that fact that its a condiment. I always thought it was a side dish. On my plate its a side dish.

Same here! And we also have to have cranberry sauce when we have chicken or baked ham.. Yum!!!!!

I like the ocean spray cran orange in a plastic cohtainer. Its whole berries. My ds dont like it at all, so its jellied for them.
