Have a Premium Site with 932/931 requested for the easy early AM drive out to the EPCOT flatlands, :sad2:, parking area.

So it's M&Ms on top and not Oreos, is it? On that we agree. :thumbsup2

I think I will pass on the 2016 Marathon weekend at Disney. Doing it a second year in a row would be pushing it with DW. Also, DD's high school band takes a trip every spring ($$$$$) and it might be time for WDW to come up in the rotation as the destination for 2016. They marched at Universal 2013 and at Magic Kingdom in 2011 (memory is foggy) so I'm hoping 2016 still has a Fort trip for us if we can justify it by going to watch the band march.

However, I was very intrigued by your mention in another thread about the Celebration races that took place last weekend (2nd Annual, it was).

I could see that race being a possibility. As it says, its a whole lot cheaper and less crowded (maybe I could sleep in a little longer on race morning). And it falls at the perfect time. That last week of January is among the lowest crowd times of the year (not counting the fall when MK has the Halloween and Christmas separate ticket events - the regular attendance calendars show it low because it closes early for the separate ticket events. I want a full day/night).

In fact, this past Wednesday January 28 was a "1" on the crowd calendar from easywdw. Josh at easywdw wrote an article about expectations in a FP+ world for times like Jan 28: http://www.easywdw.com/uncategorized/january-28-walt-disney-world-wait-times-and-the-reality-of-the-lowest-crowds-of-the-year/#more-15115 We had posters recently post pictures from past years during this week showing low crowds. We can't go back in time but this time of the year intrigues me.

I would encourage others to consider doing a runDisney event like the Marathon weekend. They have the 5k on Thursday, 10k on Friday, Half on Saturday, and Whole on Sunday. If it's on your bucket list, it takes some planning. The race is the same time every year (an early weekend in January after the New Years time) and this past year registration for the races opened in April. You MUST be vigilant and register as soon as it opens because some races filled up within 24 hours after opening up and within days they were all filled (except for the Challenges).

So get that Fort reservation made (one night deposit fully refundable), wait and get the race registration made the day (hour) it opens, and then plan your training.

So John, I will pass on Marathon Weekend 2016, but I might participate in Celebration's Virtual race next year and strongly consider coming in to do it in person in the future.

Good luck to you, man. And for heaven's sake - take it easy in February.

I am not reserved yet, but am sure I will be participating in 2016. Just not sure the race, it won't be goofy but am leaning towards the full.

In passing I tried to go to the dr today but he was running so late I canceled. I might try agin next week. Though I am hoping for some running. Today my knee almost buckled had sharp pain then felt better. HowEver now at bed time it is back to how it was.

Also I need to stop posting from my iPad. I apparently can't type very well and with the auto proposed words, nothing makes sense. I guess I need a real keyboard.

BamaEd- DD was also a band child so understand the situation. When you're ready.......::yes::

M&M's......the best :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Kris- I just wanted to jump on the reservation since it's only one night's $$$$. Knees, knees, kneeeeeeees, a pain in the posterior for sure.

Got in a 102 mile bicycle ride this AM. Started at 0310 so you can understand why getting up for a Marathon Weekend race is no big deal for me.

Yeah John, i figured out a while ago that you would not have problems getting up early.

While walking the dogs tonight my knee starting hurting again. Went backwards a little. I actually had to ice it when i got home. I guess I will have to call the dr and get a first thing in the morning appointment.

It will be a long time till 2016. I am hoping to get in another sprint tri, maybe even two. There is actually one local to me, like 15 min away, with a really short swim. I did it last year. It was pretty simple local race, but not getting up super early was nice too.

I hope everyone's training is going better than mine. Definitely thinking i have to go to the dr

For marathon weekend in January all WDW resorts are host resorts. They will have early morning bus service and transportation to the expo.

Just thought i would pop in and see how everyone is doing. I finally started to run this past week. I have run Tues, Thrus, and today. Not far or fast, i have been on the treadmill. The knee is holding up so that is good. I am going to take my time getting back on it. I have also started my swimming. I have gone the last two saturdays. I had to temporarily switch gyms, while my normal one is under refurbishment. It is messing with my biking. Used to have spin class on Wed. It was perfect mid week and between runs. Now i can't do spin. I think i will have to start swimming on Friday so that on Saturday i can get in a bike ride and then leave running to sunday. All the decisions. I am just happy i am out there running again and swimming. I can tell it bothers my elbow a bit, but i am hoping it will get stronger.
