I'm not sure whether you are buying PH or not, or how many tickets you need, but you can still save a little by purchasing military tickets. The 4-day tickets you are referring to is the Armed Forces Salute. These are a phenomenal deal, but not the only military tickets. You can also save a tiny amount by purchasing regular tickets through a military ticket office. For instance, 8 day park hoppers are $449 from Disney but $441 from the base. Not huge savings, but enough to buy an extra snack or two :earboy2:

The other option, if you only have a few people in your party, is to use consecutive Armed Forces Salute tickets. Two AFS tickets would be $392 per person for 8 days of PH. Note that I have never personally tried using more than one AFS in a year, but I've heard other people say you can do this. Just a thought.[/QUOTE]

We have 7 adults and the salute tickets are only.good for 6 :(...i didbt think it would work anyway because they take your ID when you activate so if you try to activate 2 cards within 1 year they would know. Havent tried it, but i have a feelibg it wouldnt work.
I bought7- 8 day PH plus water before the price.went up. It came to $463/ person

BAS1 said "a lot of people" were booking rooms they don't intend to use. My point is there is no evidence of that. You might have seen one, but you can't remember. This doesn't smack of a conspiracy of people hoarding rooms.
'We are currently booked @ All Stars Sports but considering changing to POR-should we keep our current booking and hope that FD is offered at POR? Or book @ POR too? Can we even do that? Is it legal? Am I losing it?'

I to have read posts where people have said they have more than one reservation. I am not about to go back through 200 plus pages so I just hit a few, 7 to be exact, till I found a comment about this topic. I didn't use quotes on this because it really has nothing to do with the poster, its in answer to your thought that this is made up. While this comment isn't saying she is doing it, it is asking if she can so apparently she would be willing to. If you wish to see the original post it is #2785.
Yes, there are posts out there that have stated more than one room has been booked in anticipation. People can always go back and change what they have said but it has been said. :flower3:

Ooo, I don't see POR on that list of exclusions! Thanks for posting! Where is this from?

Just tried getting a cast member to spill the beans, this is what I got:

you: Do you know if Free Dining will be offered September 12-17, 2016?

Romeo: Great Question! Let me look into that for you, just a minute.

Romeo: I am sorry I am still looking into this for you.

Romeo: “We understand that there has been some speculation on some social media sites of an offer starting soon, unfortunately this information is not current. To ensure that you always have current and accurate information, we recommend that you go to our website www.disneyworld.com/specialoffers"

Romeo: We have not announced anything as of yet, but I would suggest checking back in May.

Well it's no wonder Juliet dumped him. Or did she take poison? Whatever! :teeth:

While we are all wasting time, DH & I were tinkering with the idea of upgrading to APs for various reasons if we get FD for this fall. So I have a few questions:

If we purchase PHs for the FD package, would upgrading the APs be their cost minus what we paid for tickets and PHs in our FD package?

Also, FD is a really good deal for our family; if I could squeeze in another trip the following year before the APs expire, would it be better to get a room discount with the AP (I have no idea what kind of offers they have) or might FD still be a better deal?

If FD were a better deal still, and our APs were still active, how would we save the new tickets in the package for later?

TIA!

To be fair, it sounds like that poster you are quoting is joking.

May??????

To be fair, it sounds like that poster may have been joking.
I just reread this two times and I don't see where it could have been a joke. The 'is it legal, am I losing it' may have been but the question sounds legit, not a joke at all.
Who knows, but my point is it was said. :confused3

I say lots of crazy things. It doesn't always mean it's true. It doesn't matter what was said. The  at the end of the comment makes it a joke IMO.

I wonder if Disney will be better equipped to handle if/when free dining is announced. I have been booking during FD for years and never ever has it been as bad as it was last year! I started at 7 and didn't get thru til almost 3!!! Thankfully got what I wanted,
But totally insane! On line kept crashing and phone lines were busy all day.
