Just a heads up...When we booked our bounce back, a standard room at most resorts was not an option.
What Resort? or were there no Standards at any resorts to choice from?

In the event free dining does come out I don't want to be "computer challenged". Do you remember how you added the free dining ... do you click on MODIFY and it walks you through or do you happen to remember if your reservation had dining added to it before you modified or you added the dining when the free dining came out.
I had a package booked with room and tickets. I think I clicked modify and then I was able to search for rooms with the deals and select what I wanted. I remember it being fairly easy.

I've tried to see what was available @ the Mods today. Very slim pickings for my dates. Do you think there holding back rooms for FD or are they all booked up. I see things like POR booked 100+ over the last 24hrs.

Same here... I've been checking for weeks and there is almost nothing left!

I got this email today... I was excited for about 30 seconds until I realized it was no special offer.

It all depends on your dates. My sister was able to book a standard view room at POR for her trip and my daughter was able to book a sv bounceback for her trip, different dates. I was able to book a preferred room for one free dining room but not for a room only bounceback.[/QUOTE]

Yes, we are a September free dining family. When getting BB, we have always gotten Standard availability for going back again in September. I would imagine for those that go later, those are less to come by since those earlier in the promotion snatch them up.

They do not hold back rooms for FD. There is no point. FD is only to entice people to actually book so the more people who book "in hopes of FD" the less likely they are actually to offer free dinning. If they don't offer FD and it is extremely limited to the point that they see cancellations of already booked rooms and packages they will just offer last minute room only deals instead.

Truly, I can't see a business holding back rooms they could be booking just for the possibility of future bookings. A bird in the hand and all that.

I just think of all the folks on this site who have bookings they don't really intend to keep, and believe that more options will open up as folks narrow down their plans and the discounts become more clear.

There are a LOT of hotel rooms at Disney and I just can't imagine that they are actually going to fill up. I wonder if that has ever happened - that any of their resorts are completely booked? Especially MONTHS in advance?

I get to bow out of this guys! I got a great deal through another TA and booked it and am cancelling my current reservation. It's just as good as the FD offer would be! So I'll be watching just cause this is exciting but I don't have to worry now :)
Wow! Was it a room discount? Do share! I'm jealous!

How do you see how many rooms have been booked in a certain time frame? are you a TA and have access to something that shows this information?

There are a few times during the year that there will be very little left to book. Also holiday weekends tend to be fully booked. Sometimes they'll put up a sign when you get onto property about hotels being a capacity. Also tends to happen on runDisney weekends that maybe 1 or 2 hotels will have spots left but most will be fully booked.

It has happened. Maybe not for any length of time but there are days when every room at a resort is occupied.---Remember too that the Free dining offer ususally runs during a slow time of year and Disney typically does renovations during that time.

I noticed this info showing up recently on the website if you go price a package or act like you are booking. A new feature Disney has added to the site I believe. It doesn't give any date info though, just shows number of times booked at that resort.

Interesting I haven't seen that on Disney's site and I was on it today. I've only seen it on the discount travel websites like Expedia and Travelocity.
