This may be already answered somewhere, but I thought I had read of someone staying at a moderate, but getting the CS plan for free, and a credit for the difference of the regular DDP. We prefer the MOD resorts but this trip we are not wanting the DDP just the QS. We are currently booked in at ASSp with free QS, on a bounceback, so will still be good either way.
That sounds awesome, but I doubt it would be true. That would be like getting free dining plus an almost $80 credit per day if you have a family of four with kids 10 or older.

LOL I've been thinking that too. After this year we really don't plan on going again until the Star Wars land opens - but if there is a BB FD offer it might be worth the $200... because I say every time I want to wait awhile before the next trip. But, after about 6-8 months I want to go back again!
We book the fd bb every year and it's awesome! This year we would like to change the dates. That's why we're hoping for a Fd release now.

So if I book now, based on the dates we expect to see the FD, at one if the mods that are typically FD, with PH, can I go online and modify that reservation at 4:30AM on the date it's released to a dining package? Or is it better to wait until it's released and book a brand new reservation online / phone call? I've always waited until the morning it's released and called in. But it would be sooo much nicer to have the option of modifying a reservation online at 4:30am!! Almost too good to be true!
I was told we can modify online for free dining if we have existing reservation.

I don't know if this question has been answered on here. We already have our tickets through UT, but might go ahead and book the FD promotion. I know there will probably be a ticket with hopper, etc requirement to get the free dining. If so, we will just get the minimum requirement (2 day with hoppers?). Will we be able to use those 2 day with hoppers at another time, other than our reservation time, and use our already purchased UT tickets for this trip?

Yep. Save them for another time. Stop at guest services before you enter your first park and ask them to prioritize your tickets so the right tickets get used first.

For example, rteetz posted that he heard the rumored dates were just for the UK. Yet I was under the impression that the UK gets their free dining dates a year in advance and therefore they already had their free dining dates for 2016. Also, I was under the impression that the UK's free dining offer for 2017 would be announced just a few days prior to our 2016 free dining (with both likely being released within the next two weeks).
And the Brazilian dates were the same as these as well according to reports.

Thanks, Funfire240! I just can't wait to get this part of the trip all set! Then on to the rest of the planning! But then what will I do with my time??? LOL!
So my husband and I have absolutely no plans on going back to WDW next year. But, we both agreed this morning that when we go in September if there's a FD BB were gonna put a deposit down on it just in case so I never have to do this whole free dining hunger games again!

We booked a FD BB last year for this September even if we weren't sure we could go. We did end up having to cancel and postpone our trip to November. It was painful to cancel our BB and have to join the FD waiting game! We did book for this November when we cancelled and are going to go with hopefully FD or a room discount. By booking last year we at least are saving some money if we can't get any other discounts because we booked before ticket prices and dining plan prices increased. If you book a BB this year for next you will save money by not paying ticket price increases if they rise again next year!:)

For those of you who are Disney Visa holders, do you get an email to notify you when the offer is coming out? I NEVER do. Also, how many days before do you get the notification? I called Disney several times and they said I should be getting the offers. I saw a few people on one of the boards that said the same thing that they never get notified either. Well, I went onto my Chase Disney Visa and logged in. Then hit Disney Rewards. There was a link at the very bottom of the page that said, "Customize your Site Experience." I clicked on it and low and behold, most questions were not checked, including the question about if I am interested in Disney Vacation. There is a drop down where you can pick Disney World, Disneyland and so on. I hope to NOW get some offers.

On another note, I called central res to make a change on a clients res and the rep was so helpful. She said that they are now limited to 90 per person when we call in. Many agents will call in with like 30 clients reservations to change and that is what ties the lines up on the days the offers come out. So hopefully, for those of us who have to call in, we will not wait all day. In addition, there was a change on my TA portal. It said that I was able to change a clients package, dates, resort, guest names and so on. As of yesterday, it looks like there is a change button for changing the package, resort and dining, but I cannot change the dates or guests on an existing res without calling in. I did try to change the dates when the option was there and it did not work. I just hope the clients I have now...including me...have the correct dates and I can change the package to a discount of FD or % off without calling and waiting all day.

Good luck to everyone! We are all anxiously waiting the official notification that FD is coming.

We booked a FD BB for September but can't go during that month. I am holding onto that reservation for now though because the CMs said we may be able to just change the dates of our ressie if FD is released for our new dates. Crossing fingers but it's not likely, based on the rumors, that we will get FD since we will be going late Oct, early Nov. Never thought of the ticket prices we paid though vs what they are now. Thanks for that! :)

I am not sure if someone posted this yet, but wanted to share.

For those that have booked a BB for FD when did you stay? Seems like I always get a room discount BB when we go

Yes, it was me that said it cost us about $100 for 4 ppl. However, that was last year's prices, renewal and DVC discount. This year it depends on how many days we buy but we will likely do a 5 day hopper and renew to a gold pass. That's a $61/person difference. Since gold pass renewals are $496.29.

Wow that is quite the discount to renew. I wanted to upgrade into a year pass last year but when I saw $2700 US($3650 CDN) to upgrade our family of 7, it was just way too much. That $2700 is almost half the trip of our trip this year on the BB. Oh how I wish we could get the Florida discount. You would think they would want people from far away to visit more often, not the people around the corner. Hmmmm, wonder if I can register for a Florida ID at one of my friends places, :) lol

I can't imagine this ever happened. Disney won't refund you the difference. If you prefer the MOD, but only want QS, you can still do the MODs and just use all your credits for QS meals. You can use a TS credit for a QS once all your QS meal credits are gone.

I followed your steps just in case. However, I'm thinking could those settings just affect how much information is reflected on that website at a given time? Since you don't log into that URL specifically - i.e. you are bounced out of DisneyRewards.com when you click manage my account and sent to the Chase site - I don't believe those settings are tied to you as a unique visitor.

Does that make sense? I think the customize site might just help people who only care about certain Disney aspects reduce the volume of information on the site? That's my inkling anyway.
