Interesting. Aug. 23rd is three days earlier then the FD bb offer beginning Aug. 26th. Has a free dining deal ever been offered days before the bb offer?

Those dates around Thanksgiving are a little strange. Typically free dining ends the weekend before Thanksgiving. I'd be surprised if those dates hold true.

Yes, historically those pre-Thanksgiving dates don't match up. I would be surprised.

Yeah, those are rough dates to get FD for. They've scaled back October so much to practically nothing , and even back a couple years ago it still only had the first few day and last weeks basically. You might look at the historical data and see about the likelihood of a room discount. But I'll be hoping for you, you never know

I bet you have a good chance with those dates. Last year we checked in on Sept 29th and had ours through the 8th.

Just curious, but if you go every year, why don't you book a bounce back? Or are your dates usually outside of the bounce back.

Because every year we literally say we are going to skip the next year! This year we will most likely book a bounce back. We just can't stay away!

You're better off just putting up the $200 "just in case" then cancelling if it's a definite no. You get your deposit back as long as it's more than 45 days before your trip.

NO it's not Better!!! Doesn't mean you will be able to add any discount code if booked already, and they may not even offer any discounts--Because it can make Disney think that there is no need to offer any discounts because everyone has booked already. So if you are willing to not have any discounts, then go ahead and book, but if you want more of a chance for Disney to offer a discount, Wait to book.

There is more of a chance that Disney won't offer FD, I think that it is not Smart at all!!
Don't book early, hoping for Free Dining--
You may not get the Hotel that you want, because Disney does not offer every Resort Hotel, only those that are not booked up are offered.
So you could be making a lot of work for yourself by booking. Could even miss out on FD altogether, I have heard of this and it is real,
people book the resort they want and when FD comes they call to add it, only to find out that the Resort they booked is not the one that Disney is offering FD at and then find out there is no availability anywhere else.

Yup could happen. But then I would just be in same position as you. No big deal. But CBR is normally a hotel they chose. So I'd rather be booked and ready. Worse case scenario I be in same boat as u. Best case they use the hotel I want and I get free dining and hotel sells out.

Our plan was the November 12th through the 19th. I really hope those dates they posted earlier are wrong. This is a necessary discount for our family, and will be our first Disney trip. Heck, it will be our first family vacation at all. My son will be 17, and plans to get into the military the summer after, so it is like the last chance before he takes off to get this trip. My daughter is 10, and was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome(half a heart) and has been through three open heart surgeries. This has been a wish of hers for so long. I really hope the free dining is offered for our dates.
