I had a reservation last year thru a travel agent. When free dining came out, I wasn't sure if she would get thru to modify it, so I was up at the break of dawn and I just made a new free dining package via online. I then cancelled my other reservation with the travel agent (got my $200 back) and transferred the new free dining package to my TA. I wasn't going to risk missing the resort I wanted for the dates I wanted while the travel agent waiting on hold for hours.

I thought when I saw Steve, he looked familiar. Knew he might have some inside info.:thumbsup2

So thought I'd update with what I can see on my reservation now. I currently have a package with Room, 5 day Water Parks and More tickets & Memory Maker.

I am ABLE to modify ONLINE: Package, Resort, Tickets, Dining Plan & Transportation. It says I must CALL for changes to: Dates, Travel Party, & Memory Maker.

Thought that Info might be helpful!

I never ran into this question before because we've always done tickets for every day we were staying and I just always assumed that was required with the FD offer, BUT thought I would ask..... If they come out and say the minimum is 2nts/3days are you able to book 5nts with only 3 days of park tickets and still get FD for each of the nights booked (i.e. 5) or do they typically require tickets for every day in order to get FD that day?

You only need the bare minimum. You can definitely have more nights than tickets and get it for every night.

Days of tickets and nights of stay do NOT have to match. You only have to meet the minimum of each.

Thanks! Could definitely be helpful to have a break to enjoy the resort, particularly on longer trips.
That's exactly what we did last year. We did 7 nights with 5 days of tickets and took a day off to spend at CBR/DTD. Worked out perfectly ::yes::

Thank you so much for the Quick replies to my question. I think we have the ticket situation in hand. Since YES tickets are not the value they were at one time, free dining may be the way for us to go.

I'd like to ask one additional question. We are two adults, one 10 year old Disney adult and one child. Does anyone know the rack rates for value and moderate resorts? I appreciate your patience and help! It's difficult to decide which avenue will be cost effective, but still allow us to do most of what we want to do!!

Is this what you are looking for? Alternatively, you can go on the website and pretend to book a room or package and get the prices that way

Wow!!! I never knew that list even existed!!! Thank you SO much!!! That definitely helped me make my decision!!! Thank you again and may the pixie dust from 1000 fairies make your day special!!!!

Same here. Already booked with a great offer, but still watching here to see how it unfolds. Last year I was on at 5:45, and had no problems, but soon after, the website went down, the phoned were horrific. Who knows if we will book it again next year, or if they will even offer it, so I want to see what happens this year.

If you already have a reservation and the free dining comes out can you modify your reservation for this on the website? Or would you have to book a new reservation?

I need some insight. I am going 9/3-9-10 and hoping for free dining. I have read that this offer opens early to Disney Visa card holders. Is it worth getting the card for this benefit? Do you have to book the vacation using this card to get the fd? Any advice would be a big help.

Last year they did not open free dining earlier for card holders.

Last April when free dining opened up, it did not open early for Disney Visa holders. It went live for everyone at the same time.
