2016 Epcot International Food and Wine Festival: September 14 - November 14, 2016

I haven't seen the pricing or the schedule for the mixology and culinary demonstrations. I am thinking on doing the behind the scenes at Trader sams grotto and perhaps the Japanese beer tasting for DH nothing else seems to be catching my attention. I hope I can book those the 19th :genie:.
I recommend the Japanese Craft Beer Tasting. We did it last year and it was awesome! Lots of beer with a nice variation in tastes and styles, and surprisingly, lots of food! The presenter was fun and super knowledgable. The event must have been a hit, because it costs $20 more per person this year! :sad2:

Thanks for the review ! Now I think we are going to have to choose between trader SAMs or the tasting since both happend the same day and overlap in time.

Damn, I'm disappointed that PFTS still isn't running into the first weekend in November. I was hoping to check it out this year. Disney keeps giving me a reason to plan another trip each year...

I can't believe there isn't a cheese seminar on Saturday, September 24th! I know Max McCalman will be in France that weekend, but I was hoping they would slip in a substitute. Oh well...maybe next year.

Am I missing something? I thought the schedule hadn't been released yet.

We're juuuuuussstt missing this, going 9/4-9/9. So sad. I *think* I might remember someone saying some of the kiosks sometimes open a few days earlier? Is there any chance of this?

TIA!

I'm wondering this too. I feel like I remember hearing of a soft open in the past. Can anyone confirm? We'll be there through 9/12.

There used to be a soft opening (Cast Member Night) on the Thursday prior to a Friday opening. Anyone could purchase, but it was a "test run" to try and work out any kinks. Since the Festival is beginning earlier this year and on a Wednesday--your guess is as good as anyone's whether it will have a Cast Member Night on Tuesday. :confused3

So you can call now to book but booking isn't available online yet, right?
Any guesses on when online booking will start? It was already open when we planned our trip last year

I think for the premium package part of the problem was they started selling it before they had all the details as to what it was going to include. Most people bought it early hoping it would include the same things as the previous year but alas it didn't.
This was exactly the problem. Had everyone waited till the booking was officially open instead of calling and having the CM dig for the info to book there wouldn't have been even half the confusion there was. But many here on The Dis are chomping at the bit to book these things so they are calling continually till they find someone willing to book it. By the time we booked all the kinks were worked out and we knew exactly what was included and booking went off without a hitch. I learned by following the 2015 thread, patience is needed. And there isn't a rush to book because it will sell out. Thing is, if there isn't an announcement made that it's open for booking, so few know about it that it won't sell out.

Hubby and I are interested in doing the Cheese Seminar but it's the day we fly in. Our flight is scheduled to land at 5:20am and we're staying at POR. Do you all think it's a bad idea to book this? Sucks that it's so early in the morning and offered so infrequently.

The general public can make reservations on July 21. Annual passholders, DVC, and TiW can make reservations starting on July 19. Most likely, Disney Visa card members can make reservations on July 20 but this has not yet been confirmed by WDW or Chase.
