Hi All, it's been a long time since I posted here but I know you'll help me :)

In the past we have always visited Florida during Easter holidays or May half term - always giving us lovely weather, not too hot etc etc. Next year this won't be possible due DD (15) sitting GCSE's. We have therefore decided to look at the option of going in Summer holidays - so we have a choice.... do we go around 7th July for 3 weeks OR mid August and then return in time for start of school?

Which month gets the most rain? When is the humidity worse? Is it quieter towards the end of August?

As always, any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Diane

I vote for Mid August. Crowds will be lower as Florida and a lot of US schools go back then. July has big south american school tour groups.

Touring plans has July crowds 8 or 9/10 busy. Mid August 7/8 dropping to 4/10 last week of August.

Check when your school is back think some are very late next year into September. I'd come back as late as you can to maximise quieter park time and hopefully flights a bit cheaper too.

Weather should be the same - very hot and humid.

As late as August as possible. The weather is much the same but crowds will drop at the end of August and if you can run into the first week of September, even better. Both are hurricane season and it will rain probably every day in both months. August is a bit cheaper as well I think.

Hi...:) We've done pretty much most of July or August.. Weather pretty much the same throughout so that not the real issue , from our experience we have found arriving around 20th August and leaving before Labor Day is about as good as it gets , generally it should work out cheaper to book and it's so much quieter in the parks due to US schools going back & then get back to UK before our schools return.

It's crazy hot & humid both months-
Lots of deodorant, water & air con required!

Although we 're going in 2 weeks-I'd vote for mid/late August.
There is a definite drop in guests & the follow the flag groups!!

Sorry, I've just re-read!

If it's a choice of 2 weeks or 3 -I'll change my answer to July!
3 weeks wins:chat:

Thanks for your input everyone. August it is then (still for 3 weeks though:flower: married2mm).
Not looking forward to the humidity though!

Don't forget Brazilian tour groups though. We will never ever ever go in July again!

Edit: I'm an idiot because you've chosen already, you'll like August forget the humidity, it only takes a couple of days to get used to it.

We have done both. Flights from UK tend to be more expensive in August than July. Weather wise not much in it, crowds wise not much in it crowds don't go down significantly until after labour day. I'd pick July.

Early July flights are cheaper than August - we go that times most years and beating the main school holidays means we cheaper flights.

Crowds don't bother us when the savings can be had on the cost of going. It's cost us around £300 per person more to go in August over early July on PE flights and that's going out via NY which was cheaper than direct to Orlando.

Interesting about flights. I've looked but never found decent prices for Manchester flights in early July. DD finishes school a couple of weeks before the local state schools but have never been due to flight prices. I wonder if the proximity to scotland affects prices with the scottish schools already having broken up.

IMO and experience, flight prices in August are cheaper starting from mid August.
Early August flight prices are very expensive.

We go out from LGW so that might make a difference - always got decent prices leaving the first 2 weeks of July as like you DD finished 2 weeks before state schools.

Not done July before but another vote for the last 2 weeks of August!

We are going in August 2016 arriving on the 20th for two weeks. We are booking our flights and hotel separately and for us the price for Disney hotel drops towards the end of August. I know people said flights are more expensive in August compared to July but in all honestly i think it will work out about even. I would probably go for the end of August as it might be *slightly* less busy in the parks
