2016 and 2017 Sales dates - DLP and France ?

Just planing our AL for 2016/17 and when to go to DLP of course and as our son school will have first week of January off in 2017 I'm wondering if not to go for a New Year/just after...

have found dates for 2016 and Winter 2016 sales begin Wednesday, January 6th and end Thursday, February 16th, 2016... what do you think it will be in 2017? 4th or 11th? I would love to be there for a first day of sale

If the law doesn't change next year, sales would start on the 11th in 2017

Reason being that it is always the 2nd Wednesday of Jan unless this date falls after the 12th of Jan which explains why in 2016 they start on the 6th and not on the 13th !

You have to love the French and their laws


Les dates officielles des soldes d’hiver et d’été sont fixées par le décret n°2008-1343 du 18 décembre 2008 :

Les soldes d'hiver débutent le deuxième mercredi du mois de janvier à 8 heures du matin ; cette date est avancée au premier mercredi du mois de janvier lorsque le deuxième mercredi intervient après le 12 du mois.

Les soldes d'été débutent le dernier mercredi du mois de juin à 8 heures du matin ; cette date est avancée à l'avant-dernier mercredi du mois de juin lorsque le dernier mercredi intervient après le 28 du mois.
