2015 FREE DINING THREAD _ All Questions HERE!!

Anyone else had complete silence from the beginning? I never was prompted to enter any info. Have I waited an hour and ten minutes stupidly...ugh

I never had any prompt just silence. I kept checking my phone to make sure it didn't disconnect inadvertently. Eventually, a wonderful agent picked up. She didn't offer any good news but she was still super friendly, as was I. Not her fault that CBR had nothing but Pirate rooms!

I'm figuring that some people who would have booked Moderates are now booking Values (I have seen more than myself say they did this as well) and lost atleast $300 in revenue.
Yep, they lost over $700 on us.

My daughter is currently 9, but will also turn 10 by the time we go. She is listed as a 10 year old on our reservation. I don't think they will change his dining plan category automatically. You'll probably have to correct that prior to paying your package in full.
Wonder why yours is listed that way? I entered my son's birthday into his profile sometime last night. Yet it didn't change him to a 10 year old for the trip. I will definitely call about it when the phone lines die down. Thanks!

please what number did you call? i can't get past a busy signal

Been on hold for an hour and 15 minutes. In dead silence. I gott take a shower and boogie here in a few minutes. I have a dentist appointment. I'm gonna be like, " hold that drill, Doc, I gotta take this call."

I'm staying offsite if I can't get a free dining room--so if I can't get a room at a moderate they are going to lose about $1200 off me. Thankfully I'm not that worried about it, I'm fine with the three bedroom townhouse I already have booked offsite, so the fact that I have been trying off and on for the past half hour and can't get the system to work at all isn't stressing me out. It would be nice if I can get it, but oh well if not.

Disney has this free dining thing down to an art....lol..

Not only are they having people upgrade their base tickets to park hoppers, they are limiting the standard rooms so that in some cases, you must upgrade your room category to get the "free dining". I think this is a grand experiment to see how much people will pay for this "free dining". I do hope people get what they are hoping for!

This is the only scenario I can see them losing money on. People choosing to stay offsite.

I was going to say they gained money by doing that park hopper pass- We do not buy that ever so that stinks we have to if we do get free dinning :/

This, yes. I did this last year and it saved us (and cost disney) the cost of the dining plan plus a little, and I've very much considered it this year, and we are booked at a Deluxe in a theme park view room right now. That would save us around $3000... trying to figure out how worth it the view and monorail are...

Yup. The one time I got a price it was almost $900 more than the price I got yesterday. We're a family of 4, CBR package for a week in a standard room is $2800. Free Dining it looks like only preferred or pirate rooms are avail, at $3750. Still not sure since I can't get the system to work for specifics LOL

Good morning! Quick question that I hope someone can answer.

Our travel dates are Aug 23 - Aug 29. We're coming from Canada. Though, not advertised that much, last year the free dining promotion was released earlier for Canadian travellers. Is this the case this year?

Thanks !!!!
Hope everything works out for everyone's travel plans!! :)

No, it was released at the same time (early this morning) but with a start date of August 15 instead of August 28 that Americans have.

$3000 to me almost another vacation. Our package cost $2000 at Pop. Was expecting to pay $2300 at CSR. As much as I wanted a Mod, I certainly can't complain about the savings.

People from SA and Canada get the free dining from the 8/15 - 8/28 through a travel agent. They are very lucky.

Standard rooms are almost sold out because they have to hold some for the RO discount and the UOC that go out soon.

I have been on hold for 2 hours! Still no agent and probably no rooms. I don't know how this promotion can book until July??

Trust me, disney did not lose money. ;) they made everyone on FD upgrade to PH tickets, many in values will pay to upgrade their dining, etc.
They lost it on me because I already wanted and had booked PHs. Now I have downgraded from a moderate to a value. So...over $700 lost from me.
