2015 DVC Alaska Member Cruise 5/25-5/31/15

Yes the Fairmont water front is one of the Disney hotels. They do a transfer from the Airport to the hotel, which we booked. Last time there took a taxi which wasn't to bad. The hotel is very nice. Close to dining and shopping all within walking distance.

that's good to know. especially for anyone who wanted to be right at Canada Place. The Fairmont Waterfront is right by the Pan Pacific.

My son is interested. I've been prompting him to post but so far no luck!
Are any reaching the quota? His preferences are mixology and beer.

Sounds like a great idea. If we're not out touring or eating somewhere we will definitely be there. Let them know that we are planning to watch the Wonder sail in to port early Monday morning from the pool deck if they are interested.

We are up for both the evening lounge meet and (possibly) the Welcome of the Wonder into port...sort of depends on how early "early" is. Need our beauty sleep for all of the activities we plan on for this trip!

"Early" could be pretty early. The Wonder will be arriving from San Diego for its first Alaska cruise of the season. As soon as I find out I'll post the time.

Sorry but the group Mixology and other related groups fell through as we couldn't get the required 25 people.

Question about the FE groups? Will the numbers be evened out closer towards the cruise (like, if nobody else joins, it'll remain a maxed group and the other will have under 10). Making up ideas and craft supplies in my head the past couple weeks now that everything else has been planned out/reserved :D!

Too bad. He plans to sign up for the mixology class on the ship. Does anyone know if this is something you do when you first board?

Is this something you'd like to see happen right now?

I think the two open groups can easily decide on this issue. Those already signed up, usually remain on the list they are on right now. It would be the new signups that would be affected. They could be automatically placed on List D to even it out if that's what you all want to do.

Right now we are giving a choice between groups B and D since both lists remain open but the great thing about the FE is that everyone's input is welcome and considered.

So if we can get some more feedback here, on how we should handle new signups it would be very helpful.

I would definitely recommend going to the Port Adventures desk early in the cruise, if not on boarding day, to book any of the tastings or mixology type sessions. Some are very popular and will book up quickly.

I would be fine with moving to the other adult group to even things out. I will have some "extras" as we have already started on it, but that will just mean some people will get some magic! :). Micca and I will be flexible. Do with us as you need/want to! :)

I don't have a particular preference, just wasn't sure what was typically done about groups being balanced or not. Keeping each list as it is (and less work for you guys) is perfectly fine as it is! :)

I have all my FE stuff prepped, ready to assemble. It is not personalized to the recipient, but specific to where we are going. Someone who is personalizing might not be able to adjust down at this point, either. So, I would not be in favor of the balancing. If I wasn't this far along, it would be okay.

If the majority haven't bought or made their stuff yet, and want to go ahead and balance out the list, I will go along with it, but if we are voting, I vote no. Deb

Right. I agree with Deb and Thori. We're all pretty well set with the existing FE groups and there's no need to rearrange them.
JayKat, I think the issue is mainly with the open Family FE Group D balancing out a bit more with Adult Group B. You moving from one adult FE to another doesn't work in that case.

Honestly, I don't see any problem with just placing the next few new signups right into Group D to even the open groups B and D up a little. I know this cruise leans more on the adult side, but it shouldn't be a problem. Most are just happy to participate.

Looks like right now, we have a group of 9 and a group of 6 still open. Not sure how many more we'll get to sign up but it's already March. I know some tend to join late, so I really have no idea what the final count will look like.

thanks for the advice. He plans to head right there when we get on the ship. So if anyone's planning a mixology class, you may meet my soon to be 26 yr old son Mark there. He's up for some fun and looking forward to making a few drinks!

I vote that we keep the FE lists the same as we have already started to buy gifts based on the FE groups that we are currently in. But I understand if I am in the minority and then I will go with the majority vote.

If the numbers are too "small" for the remaining FE open groups, I am happy to join the other FE groups as well.

it would be great if the closed groups could remain the same, I am super organised and have completed all my FEgifts for my group. Only 72 days to go!!!!

I'm starting to organize the FE gifts. This is my first time doing it, so sorry for the newbie questions. Do you put a tag of some sort on the gift to say who it's from or just annonymously drop it in the pocket?

Totally up to you. Most people will put some kind of tag or note to say who it's from, but not all do. I always like knowing who a gift has come from, it's fun to match the creativity to the people. The easiest way, if it works for your gifts, is to print out labels like you might use for return address labels. But really depends on your style and gifts...Have fun! We are still undecided on whether we want to join an FE group...we are SUPER busy with work so not sure if we will have time to put a nice, fun, thoughtful gift together.

Does everyone do door magnets, or decorate their stateroom doors? We like to...again, when we have time to think of things to do. We love walking the ship to see all of the door decorations.

Woo Hoo!!! I am SO excited that we leave in 70 days!! And I have a business trip and a quick weekend visit to my parents house (3 states away) in between! AAAAaaaa...so out of control. And why I have a massage already planned for the cruise. :-)
