Holy, have they taken a big jump! :scared1:

Yes, I know it's not generally a good use of points. But in March of this year for our spring break, we did a 7-night Fantasy cruise. A 5A cabin was 216 points/person, so we paid points for me and DH and cash for DD (total 432 points). Which was good, because we had ample points to cover that.

For March 2015 same time frame, a 7-night Fantasy cruise in a 5A is 348 points/person!! That would be 696 points for two people!!

Instead, we are going to book 10 nights in a 2-bedroom Island view at Aulani (based on 2014 charts, it should be 630 points as long as they don't change).

From what I'm reading on the DIS cruise boards, the actual cash prices released today are also pretty sky high.

It has been a while since I did a head to head comparison of DCL and points vs cash rate and renting points at $10-12pp

Has anyone done this for 2014 or 2015 DCL yet?

I did for the 2014 MC, for the two categories I looked at, the point value was $7.00.

Almost everyone I've done in the last year has been right at $7 or just under. I get from $6 to $7.50 as a range. The only one I recall that was more looked at in advance was the first year for HI. If you take into account other possible discounts, I've seen it down to $4 pp when I considered FL resident discounts. This issue is only one of the reasons I think buying to use for cruises is a poor choice and that usually it's better to rent out the points and pay cash for current owners.
