I have searched for an answer and haven't been able to find one. Here is the question:

Our last 2 days at WDW
Friday November 7th- We have tickets to MVMCP

Saturday November 8th- We have reservations at Be Our Guest at 6pm.

I want to squeeze in the Osborne Lights Show.-
How long do they diplay them? From 6 ish till closing nonstop or are they at certain times?
I'm going to try and move Be Our Guest reservations if I have to..

Suggestions, advice --Help Needed
Thanks
Steph

They have a small ceremony type thing where they turn on the lights at 6 and the usually stay on until an hour after park closing on non-EMH days and stay open through EMH and shut off at the end of EMH on those days

The lights "dance" to a song every 15 min or 30 min, I can't remember which but the lights are on continuously. It doesn't have show times like CP.

Your party night won't work and depending on the park hours for HS the night you have BOG, you might be cutting it close getting there before park closing. Also be aware some nights the lights are reserved for special parties so be sure to check with guest relations before you head that way

Thanks for the tips and advice. Yeah I was pretty sure that I wasn't going to get to check them out on the night of our MVMCP.

Is BOG that great ? Maybe we will try a CS meal for lunch there instead?

Thanks again,

~Steph

I've only had lunch there so far, and have a dinner ADR for our December trip. Unless you are just dying to see the Beast, I'd say do CS if you really want to see the lights. Beast is only there at dinner but the atmosphere is the same and at lunch you choose where you want to sit. And, i've never had to wait more than 15-20 minutes in the line for CS. The food was great, especially for a CS, and just seeing the castle, I cried.

Although they do leave the lights on past official closing time, you must be in the park at that time. After the official closing they will no longer admit new guests to the park.

BOG is excellent I might add....great ambience and Food too.

I'm kinda upset that it's not opening on friday7th. Last year it did and I changed our return date home from sunday 9th to sat 8th, so it looks like we're going to miss it...

What is not opening on Friday the 7th?

Osborne Spectacle of lights. ..... You see, I'm flying out on Saturday and was hoping to see it on the Friday b4. They did that in 2013. I wasn't down there last year but saw when it 1st opened. Was hoping to get to see it, to really put us in the Xmas spirit. Not that we'll need it though.lol.

 No!!! What am I missing?! I thought all the speculation is that it will be opening on Fri Nov 7th? PLEASE don't tell me that it is not opening on the 7th?

Osborne Lights for sure! It may not be in the same place next year, so this could be your last chance to see it in all it's wonderful glory!

There's a link to a performance from 2013 in my signature. It was breathtaking, and if you stay all the way to the end, you'll hear that the crowd was mesmerized and was completely quiet, then burst into loud applause. One of my fave moments.

BOG will be around for many many years to come, so you'll have plenty of opportunities to eat there.

If keeping BOG ADR means you run the risk of missing Osborne Lights, its not worth it IMO. I would rather do BOG for lunch as a QS and catch Osborne Lights that night.

I'm pretty sure it is scheduled for November 7th, not sure where the PP read that it isn't.

Thanks for all the input. We have never seen the lights and we will not miss them if at all possible! We will go to BOG for lunch and get to see the inside of the castle. It's just 4 adults and though we would have loved to see The Beast it's just not worth the chance to see the lights!!

I am almost positive that the lights are starting on Friday Nov 7th.

Even though we love BOG, I would pick the Osborne Lights over BOG any day! Maybe you can get a reservation at BOG later that evening so you can go after the lights (it looks like DHS closes at 8pm on 11/8.)

If not, I agree with the PP's to try and get a CS Lunch Fastpass for BOG sometime during your trip.

On here it says Saturday. 8th http://www.wdwinfo.com/holidays/osbornelights.htm

But on this website which I found, it says the 7th...... http://touringplans.com/hollywood-studios/attractions/osborne-family-spectacle-of-dancing-lights So at least now I have a little found bit of optimism. ..:confused3

Ugh! I love the Dis but I hope that it is wrong. The hours on the 7th were DHS closing at 7pm but since I have been doing my planning they have extended until 8pm. I was really hoping that was due to the lights.

Yea, you n I both....

November 8, 2013 through January 5, 2014
Open from Dusk until Park Closing

It looks like they haven't updated the information yet. If you look at the calendar, November 8th last year was a Friday so there is a good chance it'd be starting on the 7th this year. I'm hoping so as I managed to convince my friend to stay an extra day so we can see the lights on the 8th.
