How are the dormer rooms in the outer buildings? I was going to request a top floor non-connecting room (booked garden view) and thought I may end up with a dormer room instead. Any huge differences from the other rooms to worry about?

We stayed in a dormer room in Boca Chica about ten years ago. We both felt a little claustrophobic in that room type. I know it is silly as the room is only slightly smaller. But, the solid balcony didn't help.

Oh no, thanks for reminding me Mickeynut and Blue I loved those sticky buns too.

I know, it's horrible that they took away those sticky buns .

Thank you so much :cool1:

You're welcome :goodvibes.

Thank you all again for all the wonderful information! I need to learn the art of multi-quoting now so I can thank each of you!

A Very Grand Evening to all!

Liz

Glad you are getting all of the GF info you want/need, this is a very friendly and informative group :flower3:.

k&a&c'smom gave great instructions on how to multi-quote ;).

Also, as far as garden view, our request is for top floor and quiet if possible. Is there any building that's better than the others for a garden view or should I not request a specific building?

I agree with everything k&a&c'smom posted :thumbsup2.

You are one of those I was thinking of, I'm pretty sure we've discussed your preference for late flights, etc.:teeth: Next time we fly, I'm thinking of trying it out, just to see if we like it better. We're driving down from DC this upcoming trip.

Yes, we have ::yes::. We love the night flights and checking in late, getting settled, and waking up the next morning ready to go :goodvibes. I hope you have a nice drive on your upcoming trip :drive:.

If they got rid of the b'fast meat and cheese, I think there would be a mutiny!;)

I agree about the mutiny . The breakfast meat and cheese is a big hit.

Thanks all!
Will be our first time at V&A's! I managed to get the Queen Victoria room, was shooting for the chefs table but we didn't decide to do this trip until a month ago so missed booking as soon as window opened up!
We have been to Remy three times on the Dream/Fantasy and loved the food there so we are excited to try more!

First trip to WDW in almost 25 yrs for the wife and about 12 years for me, celebrating her bday and our wedding anniversary :)

I hope you have a great anniversary/birthday celebration trip :wizard:.

I agree, the dormer rooms aren't that much smaller, but they do have a different feel space-wise ;).

Our room was on the second floor 3 balconies from the end next to the tree. Perfect view of the pool.

Wow! Thanks ABK96! Getting me excited for our November trip. Today is our "Dalmation Day".... 101 Days left!

:cheer2:

Hi GF folks!

I posted on here a few months back about a work event I was attending at the Grand. Just wanted to report back that it was great! I was in 7428, Conch Key, theme park view. I couldn't believe how big the room was compared to others I've stayed in on property. It also felt much cleaner. My only complaint is the noise from the boat dock. Since they beep when they pull in we could hear it pretty loud in our room. Other than that it was a great first stay there! The convention center ballrooms were nice and they fed the 900 people in our group as if we were small crowd.

Glad you had a great time at the GF. I agree, the rooms are big and spacious ::yes::. Sorry about the boat whistles being so loud from your room, but glad everything else was great :).

abk96 - thanks for the lovely photos, your view was great! Thanks for the shot of the turn down cards. I like to use them for book marks (I know, almost no one needs book marks these days, lol)!

Thanks all!

Awww, shoot, sorry you missed the Chef's Table, but the QVR is supposed to be very nice. Better ambiance for your first visit, anyway.::yes::

I know, we love to make sandwiches from the croissants, ham and cheese. I'm particularly fond of the dilled Havarti and the boursin - DD's favorite is the salmon spread!:lovestruc

The drive down should be great fun, I arrive in DC the day before and we head out after the girls get off work the next day. (did that sentence even make sense?! I'm up in the middle of the night!)

Glad you had a great stay overall, sorry you had issues with boat noise. They really do an excellent job with events, don't they?

Thank you for your lovely SL photos, abk96. Ooh, Good Night cards! We missed them during our last visit.
You're welcome!:) I just wish I got pics of the food in the lounge for everyone. It was so crowded most times so I didn't bother.

Thanks ABK96 for all the info. and now the beautiful pictures ... Amazing vacation : )
You're welcome!:)

You're welcome!:) Using them as book marks is a great idea. I'm going to do that too.

We took ds17 to bookstore last night and he got The Lord of the Rings Set. For HIS bookmark he used his 8 inch mini replica of a sword we got for him at Disney.

(Looks just like a sword but actually a letter opener/now bookmark.:rotfl:)

I know, we love to make sandwiches from the croissants, ham and cheese.
Oh ya, I saw people do that AFTER I had already eaten. I will try that this trip.

Makes sense-ish:thumbsup2

Hey K&A&C'S mom thanks for letting practice my multi single person quoting.

You're not alone with the bookmarks....lol. I prefer the old fashion way of reading with an actual book rather than on a nook or tablet or whatever they use now (you can see how up I am on today's technology ). And yes, your sentence did make sense ;).

Your trip sounds fun......I know you and the girls will have a great time :dance3:.

Thanks! We will definitely return in the future. It was just wonderful!:)

The GF really is a wonderful resort, so beautiful and peaceful :cloud9:.

ABK...Your pics are BEAUTIFUL! THANKS!!!!:):thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Cannot WAIT till December! :santa::santa:Heard that the Gingerbread House is AWESOME!
