2014 Epcot Food and Wine Festival 9/19-11/10

....I have a sinking feeling that I am not going to be able to sign up for any of the things I want to attend at F&WF....

I had a tough time last year. Only wanted to book the Scotland event with reserved seating. First CM I spoke with said they weren't booking that. Then I saw on DIS that they were and called back. By then, no reserved seats left.

Can't help but feel like they should do better training on this. Not like it doesn't take place EVERY YEAR!!

I did the 3D Desserts last year and I think it was ok. Nice way for someone who has never done any events to "get their feet wet" Is only $50 so if you don't like it your not breaking the bank like I might this year booking PfTS.

I would anticipate these events selling out the first day (7/31), possibly even within hours:

All reserved and Wine View room seating for PFTS
All reserved seating for 3D Dessert
Possibly reserved seating for Walt Disney event on 10/24
Most signature dinners & lunches
Celebrity chef deminars
Food and wine pairings
Sunday Morning with Buddy Valastro
Food for Thought (especially Irvine, Zimmern and Cora)
Hibachi Experience

The Italian truffle meals, regional lunches and the French Regional Lunches will possibly last a bit longer but they will sell out relatively soon.

I'm not sure I can judge on many of the other events, but based on experience the ones listed will go fast.

Hello,

I have plans on trying to book the 3D Disney Dessert Discovery event. I was reading that the event takes place from 8-9:30PM. Does it really only last an hour and a half?

For those of you that have done it in years past, is it worth it and are you able to enjoy everything in that short amount of time? I am also planning on trying to book the Sweet Seats so that will give us an extra 15 minutes.

We have done PFTS before and I know we had an ample amount of time there but I think we had 3-4 hours.

Thanks!

Cyndi

My daughter reviewed this event last year. If you want to get your drink on, it might work for you. Otherwise, I think the desserts are limited and the lines were long. (See page 3 of review - imageshack enlarged the pictures but if you right click and pick "view image" they return to normal.)

I guess maybe one reason I came out of the 3d dessert party last year feeling it was worth it was because my drink of choice is vodka. So I drank plenty of it. I'm sure that skews my view. If you don't drink hard alcohol I can see why it wouldn't appeal as much. I liked having desserts too but yeah, the vodka :). Hoping for sweet seats again this year.

Is there an accessible list yet of the culinary and bev. Demos with times and dates? I was unsure if I was just looking in the wrong place.

Is there a site somewhere that list the general timeframes for these event? I would like to make sure that I get to see IllumniNations while in Epcot, but if I paid for some of these expensive events, I'm not sure that I could leave to watch the fireworks. Do these events ever conflict with fireworks?

Links are in the first post.

Nothing held inside Epcot will. PFTS will have numerous announcements informing guests about Illuminations starting soon. I believe at that and at 3D Dessert Discovery guests are brought to a roped off area where they can watch Illuminations. Signature dinners held outside of Epcot would probably not include any opportunity to see Illuminations. At the California Grill dinners there is an opportunity to view Wishes (or HalloWishes if it's a party night) from the restaurant.

Does anyone have feedback info on 3D Disney Dessert Discovery? Particularly info on sweet seats.
Thanks!

What are the things you want? There are a few things that will sell out almost immediately, but last year I got everything I wanted even though it took more than 2 hours and 3 phone calls to do it. This year I want even fewer events, so I'm going to try and get through tomorrow for the Visa prebook.

I was lucky last year and was able to book everything I wanted on the day Disney Visa cardholders could book. I hope I'm just as fortunate tomorrow. I'm starting to get anxious about calling in the morning! :coffee:

Set up the 2014 F&W Special Event list for people to add to as the DIsney Visa get some of their bookings tomorrow.

I'll update the attendees once I get online tomorrow as I'll be at the airport during the 7AM booking time & I forget if the internet is free or not.

I will be around for the Thursday booking though for the updates.

FYI, for anyone else who might be interested in the Raglan Road Signature Dinner the cost is actually $177 pp, (on WDW's official site), not the $140 reported on various blogs.

I need to call on Thursday for the 3D dessert discovery sweet seats - what were the wait times on the phone last year? I will be at work and cannot take advantage too much! Wish you could book the sweet seats online....

Wow! I was on the Fence between this and a French Lunch as the prices were pretty comparable... I think I will stick with the French lunch now.

There have been some years where people have waited up to 2 hours on the phone. I'll will be interesting to see what the wait times are for this morning for Disney Visa folks.

I'm in! Wait estimated at less than 8 minutes! I'm listening to the Mainstreet USA music...

It has been 13 minutes and I am still listening to music though...

On the phone exactly @ 7, got a busy signal. Hung up & dialed right back (still 7) the wait time is 30 minutes. I knew beginners luck from last year wouldn't hold. Biscuits!
