2014 Epcot Food and Wine Festival 9/19-11/10

After 25 min hold, DW booked a couple culinary demos and a wine tasting.

This is our first F&W event and after looking at the events last night, we have decided to go with the Parisian breakfast, the 3D dessert discovery and the Tequila Lunch.

Looking forward to booking them next Thursday - I will need to do it at 11am UK time online as I will be at work and can't really call the US - think I will have an issue getting what I want?

Just got thru on DVC 1-800 number at approximately 9:25am and they are booking them now.

Agent says I am his first booking of the day and all agents were offline to be briefed on this and were just given permission to start booking now.

I told him what I wanted (one of the culinary demos) and he had to put me on hold for some reason....he seems to be having problems. Really hoping he is able to complete this booking!

ooo! We went to the 3D Dessert party and it was so fun!! We got the reserved seating which we LOVED. The extra 20 or so min you get before the general admission comes in + having a set table is so worth it IMO.

They need to find morning people to work the phones....

after about 12 minutes on hold I got thru to an unenthusiastic agent.
She had trouble finding the AP link to book the events, but eventually found it.
Needed my AP number and Resort reservation number.

I was able to reserve 3 seats for each of the following:

9/27 1pm Culinary Demo with Robert Irvine
10/1 3pm Culinary Demo with Faithy Harris-Dowdell from Yak and Yeti featuring Mahi-Mahi
10/3 5pm Culinary Demo with Jonathan Sawyer featuring Lobster

AP, TIW, DVC...all can book on the phone today.
Regular public on the 31st and that's when online booking will open as well.

Not trying to hate on those that got to book before 9...but I feel like I always get frakked over when I follow directions. I'm considering just giving up & trying again Tuesday. I've been on hold for 23 min. Stupid adult responsibilities limits the amount of time I have for this. I'm also ticked that the F&WF link doesn't have the option to book the Demos.

If all you want is a seminar wait times will be much shorter today.

That said unless you are booking a celebrity you probably can call back later. IMHO most of these won't sell out in the first few days unless it is a big name.

I have to say listening to beauty and the beast performed by what sounds like a hive of angry bees as hold music is making the wait so much better! been on hold over 30 mins now on the fest number.

Jonathan Sawyer ... do you know him? He did a fabulous Salt Encrusted Cod for a PftS a couple years ago. The best dish of the event.

Just completed 2 culinary demo reservations for W&D Half weekend using the DVC Member Services 1-800 number. Yay!

Hoping everyone starts having similar success soon.

Got through after "only" 30 minutes on hold. First agent thought they were only booking Mon - Thurs events and said that was all she could see in the system. Thanks to the great info on this thread, I knew that wasn't true. Happily, the first agent transferred me to another agent who was able to help. Got everything we wanted! Good luck everyone!!!!

I know how you feel. I've been on hold for 27 1/2 min. and too am mad we can't book online. I thought it would work if I signed in and it recognized that I had an AP but NOPE. nothing changed

I'm glad I'm not alone, sad that you are stuck here with me. On the plus side, I got my 07OCT Demo @1500!! Now off to get everything else taken care of.

Was able to book one culinary and 2 beverage deminars. Tried to book Sundays mornings with.... And was told to call back on July 31. Was anyone else able to book this event today? Thanks.....Elaine

I only wanted 2 as well. It was a pain to wait but at least the music is nice.

I had to give my AP number. I didn't think I had to the last time I booked. Oh well. No biggie!

I called at 8:50 to the dining number got right through and was able to book the Andrew zimmern culinary demo at 1 PM on oct 11. Woo hoo! That's all we wanted!

I called at 8:55 and she laughed and said call back at 9

I called at 8:50 and was told by and unfriendly agent that I had to call back at 9am.

Now on hold listening to music...ugh

Was told the same thing but hold time was only a few minutes

Disappointed that I couldn't do it at 7am, but couldn't have been easier at 9am. Called at 8:55 and booked 1pm culinary event on 9/30 (Kevin Dundon) and 4pm beverage event on 9/30 (French wine.) All done now!

We booked Kevin Dundon for the following day!

I called the WDW FEST number right at 9, was on hold for 12 minutes, then told by a not very friendly castmember that I called the wrong number, and she gave me another number to call. I'm on hold again.

Thats the number I called and had no issue!

I was able to book 13 different seminars after only a few minutes on hold. Very happy but now tired! Thinking it was at 4am PST and come to find out it was 6am is very rough!
