$195 for the half and $320 for dumbo... Zoikes. If no one has started up a thread by New Years I'll get one crankin again... But boy is that a buzzkill.

This is getting ridiculous! I have my heart set on Dumbo in 2014, but this might be the end if runDisney events for me at this rate. Sheesh!

Wow....that is about double what I would care to pay and more expensive than any single Disney race. I hadn't seen the prices....that's crazy!

Starting to make the NY marathon seem not so outrageously priced

In "fairness" it was $280 for Dumbo Double Dare last year, so while $320 is a pretty significant increase, in light of its incredible popularity, it's not really that surprising, and will not likely preclude a near-immediate sellout.

I think the prices are getting a little too outrageous...perhaps they are spending the extra loot on security? In light of what happened in Boston?

I wonder what the follow years prices on Dopey will be?

40 dollar increase from last year. I wasn't happy but my parents took it okay. And their the ones that pay for the race registrations, so if they are okay with the 320 than I'm okay I guess.

I'm thinking the price increase also has to do with the added day of the expo. More hours means the more they have to pay their employees. And they do have to make up the money somewhere since not everyone is going to go hog while at the Run Disney booth. Though not having a crazy line that takes a couple of hours to get through should help also.

Have they started registration yet for dvc or Visa card holders? I'm waiting for that. And yikes on the price. But unfortunately, we still pay it so they continue to charge us more each year. :-(

i almost feel like i need to get it in during 2014 because i'm sure 2015 prices will be even higher!

Oh, Matt...but you've done some WTC Ironman events. It's not all that different and unexpected if you follow that model. The cost of a full Ironman has more than doubled since 2002. I paid $325 for my first one. Now they run around $700. Not saying I like that, but Disney has sure figured out what a cash cow these events are.

Exactly part of our reasoning for doing DDD this year and Dopey coming up. Because we know these "first time" events will be the least expensive we will see, as they figure out their side of the supply and demand and what the market will bear. (also, I knew I would feel like I was missing out if I didn't do them...this time. I better finish Dopey because I'm ready for a break!)

Looks like registration is working right now

That doesn't seem right. I think that most of us were assuming the FIRST round of registrations would be at the Expo for the WDW Marathon weekend.

Main registration is supposed to open Jan 28th. Isn't it?

Last year I registered in my hotel room after attending the expo for the marathon. Online was working for visa and DVC.

So for it to seem to be live right now doesn't seem right, right?

no, it's not right. this happened with princess registration as well, although it was about a week before real registration, not an entire month. people said it had something to do with active messing it up somehow.

It's not really. It's password required right now. They will prob release password next weekend to DVC and visa, would be my guess.

This is my first race registration with the Disney Visa. Do they email you to tell you registration is available?
