2014 DL Avengers Half Marathon Weekend 11/14-11/16!!!

Sorry, I meant did you find a bib for the 5k? :rotfl2:

Totally agree w/ you on the course. I liked for you had things to look forward to and it broke it up. Even w/ the trail, we had the cosplay people on the 1st 1/2 and the on the back 1/2 you could see the "A" and stadium so it gave you something to run to. Wish we were in the park more too. I was really looking forward to running through the castle w/ it all lit up; I really wanted a pic running through it w/ the xmas lights. It may have been, but when I got there it didn't look like it. We saw IASW for the 5k but we didn't run by it and it was roped off so no close up pics. :headache:

Glad you were able to run some! How were the kids races? I'm bringing my niece down for the Diaper Dash for Tink.

Oh, got it :) Never did a 5K bib but that worked out best honestly. I didn't have the extra miles in me this time!

The kids races are so much fun. We watched all but the Diaper Dash cause DD was the group that went just before them. The little kids are so cute! By DD's age they all run as fast as they can so it goes by faster. But the little ones just keep coming! Some had to be carried and others ran/toddled their little hearts out! My mom and I really enjoyed watching all the ages go this time. (At Tink we only saw DDs race.) You'll have fun watching your niece!

Hated the wind (I'm going to assume it ruined a personal best), loved the cosplayers along the trail and past the stadium, and was amazed by the peacefulness of the parks on Sunday morning after the race. We got some breakfast and then headed into DL around 9:15 to "just grab a fastpass" and ended up staying until noon because we could just walk on to so many things! They told us we could stay in our log at Splash Mountain because no one was waiting. It has been ages since I have seen the park that empty -- it was glorious.

I like the quietness too! Especially in areas where it's usually loud and you don't hear anything. My dad mentioned 1st thing in the parks was empty. He headed out to DTD around 10:30 and said that's when the people were starting to come in and the security lines where crazy long, but that could've been runners going back to the hotels too.

I had a blast. I made it across for 5 k at 1 hour and 36 mins but I stood in the 45 min line for black widow so that's why.
Had a blast but then in middle of the day i found I was limping I had pulled a muscle or something during the race and hadn't felt it kick in till after.
I had to use a wheel chair my last two days then yesterday I woke up and my leg was fine.
I was like really? Any ways I had fun and if I did another 5 k id be training a lot more.

I had a nice time there. I just went there by myself for the 1/2 and left my wife and kids at home (my wife ran the Flying Pirate 1/2 with her friends earlier this year) and this was my turn to be away. My time was pretty good all things considered with the horrible dust storm/wind. I had plenty of time to go back to my hotel, shower, then head to the opening of DCA.

I had a great time getting to park hop and go on what I wanted to go on and as many times as I wanted. Single Rider Radiator Springs Racers had barely any wait - as well as many of the single rider attractions and I had a great time seeing all the things I can't do at WDW and then some like the Indiana Jones ride. I loved the Nightmare Before Christmas motif to the Haunted Mansion. I think I went on it 5 times over the 3 days I was there. Just amazing. I got my picture taken with Hiro and Baymax and I couldn't resist going to Trader Sam's for a Shrunken Zombie Head drink.

Plus, it was really nice talking to all the fellow runners and shouting out "congratulations!" to them all even on Monday. I got to talk to a lot of the fellow runners and sharing our love (and sometimes complaints) about RunDisney events.

Glad you had fun as well! I haven't yet done a solo trip to DL. I half want one and half am scared of one. Glad to hear it went so good for you though! Us runners are a pretty friendly and fun group!
